Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Of course they'll all return, they're doing absolutely nothing. Going to Sci-Fi conventions can't be too demanding and the feeling of success is dwindling by the day.

None of them really need the money
Ford's record salaries obviously, Hammil has all the animation work, and Fisher was in the early to late 90s one of the most sought after script doctors in hollywood.

I agree if the old cast returns or at least if they market it that way this will blow past $200m OW

I must be one of the few people who thinks it's terrible to have these relics in this new series of films.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
What are you talking about? They are all amazing, accomplished actors. Didn't you think Harrison Ford KILLED IT in Indiana Jones 4 and Cowboys and Aliens? What movie isnt Carrie Fisher in these days? Hamill turns down offers left and right. It would be amazing to see these 3 back. Look at how well Christopher Lee did in Episodes 2 and 3. Hell,if they can make Samuel L Jackson pass as a Jedi, they can do anything.

There's no way Disney doesn't get the old cast on board in some way.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
As long as the old cast only have supporting roles (ie. mentor, kill of Solo etc) then its ok.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
I wouldn't mind seing Hamill have a decent sized role, ala a Obi-Wan, but Ford and Fisher should be very brief in my opinion, like maybe Akbar levels.
PS- Did I spell Akbar correctly?

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
This will be in 3D/IMAX, Disney will spare no expense, and it will beat Avatar.
Officially the first person to call it right now.

200 mil OW is very reasonable with the way OWs keep going up

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
I doubt anything will touch 200 million apart from TA 2 and SW.
Nothing else will come close...

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
OW wise it will be difficult to have anything open over $200m. Even TDKR without the shootings might not have reached that mark.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Releasing in December will limit Avatar 2's opening. I highly doubt it will jump THAT much from the OW.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Not as limiting as you would think....look at New Moon in a random November weekend or Deathly Hallows 1. With the right movie, its possible to have a huge winter opening.
Avatar could easily come close to 200m, especially considering that virtually all of its tickets sold will be 3D

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Yes but I still think December is more about legs than big opening. Though I don't disagree it is still possible to get $200m OW with 3D being a really big force but I highly doubt it will get there.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Great choice! But i guess that means Trek 2 was his last Trek. Would have probably done just one more if even that but still, i'm a little torn about this.
Imagine that, JJ reviving two of the biggest sci-fi franchises...

He's perfect. Trek '09 is the best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back.

J.J. Abrams is SO much better than this franchise. Pissed he's even wasting his time with it.
