Re: Top Ten Movies 2008 in AUSTRIA, #1 The Dark Knight
Madasgacar 2 doing less than the original? I don't think so. Even if I thought it was mediocre, WOM was amazing under both adults and children. With the christmas release date and the big marketing which is already starting in theatres, I see big numbers for this.

You could be right too of course. But I still think Wall-E will take the crown.

Mamma Mia will still likely remain #1 of the year, I'd say...

Expected a bit more from Wanted. Bad drop for the Dark Knight. You really see that parents were taking out their kids to see a movie. Look at Panda, Freche Mädchen and Narnia.

One Word: Donauinselfest. More than 3 Million visitors over three days and really hot weather are to blame here.

So that means we can see good holds next weekend?
What was the Top 5 of 2007 again (with admissions)? I'm just wondering which big hits of last year Mamma Mia! will end up passing.

Re: Top Ten Movies 2008 in AUSTRIA, #1 Wanted
So Mamma Mia! will be more successful in Austria than Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?! With this and UK and some other countries, Germany's performance of MM doesn't even seem THAT impressive (though the legs are astonishing as well).

You were very right about this weekend hold's, Patrick.
Panda? 68 %? The families should all save their money for Wall-E instead.

Oh, just noticed that. Dark Knight doesn't seem to get that much repeat viewings. Cause people are raving about it, WOM is good.
I hope that Wall-E breaks out, too. Disney was very clever last year putting Rat into fall and they keep the trend for Wall-E and also Up. Very clever.

It's about the most perfect release date the movie could have gotten. It will do awesome in that slot.
My prediction for Wall-E is around 620,000.

Re: Top Ten Movies 2008 in AUSTRIA, #1 Wanted
620,000 would be amazing. Wall-E really needs Germany and Austria for a great foreign gross as it looks.
