YES! My wish has come true. The Break Up has a better release date!

Movie Title Dist. New Date Old Date
The Break-Up Universal 6/2/06 2/17/06

Moved to the first week of June, this could be the monster romantic comedy of summer 2006!

I know, but I love when movies move to times that I think they'll be able to do alot better in (I'm just waiting for Da Vinci Code to be pushed back to December)!

Date Movie has been pushed back a week to February 17. I can't understand why the only romantic comedy of the month (with The Break Up out of the picture) doesn't want to take advantage of Valentine's Day.

Hmmm...good move for Web since it's really more of a Christmas movie anyway. And as for DOA, I think it potentially could do RE type numbers in that slot.

Frankly, I thought Garfield 2 would go direct-to-video. The original was so thoroughly uninspiring. I hope they at least get a new director. I do like Hewitt as Liz though. She works and Murray is decent at Garfield as well. Meyer is boring so I don't care if they replace him.

Hoodwinked moved up a week from December 23 to December 16.

What an unusual move, considering that's just next week.

EDIT: BOM says that on December 16, "LA (1 week Academy run)."

Yeah, it goes wide January 13th apparently. Smart move if you ask me, Christmas is packed, and January has proven to be kind to family films.

The Jim Carrey/Ben Stiller comedy, Used Guys, will be released on Memorial Day weekend, 2007 (May 25).

Absolutely perfect release date.

Disney's Meet the Robinsons has finally set a date - Dec. 15, 2006. Which I don't understand, because the weekend before is wide open. Now it's up against Eragon.

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=12586

Still no date for Apocalypto, but June 2nd seems to be a strong candidate.

BTW, I wonder if any studios have noticed that nothing is scheduled for Thanksgiving?
