Re: Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (November 4th - 9th)
For what it's worth, a friend of mine saw it in IMAX last night and he said it was packed.

Re: Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (November 4th - 9th)
We got an e-mail at work saying nobody can see the IMAX version for free for at least a week. They must at least be anticipating a big crowd for it.

They're clearly just making sure you don't go in and see the lack of a crowd, so you can't report it to the media.

I saw Big Hero 6 at 12:02am last night with a group of about 12 people. There were only about 8 other people in the theater, but everyone enjoyed the movie a lot. Not sure how WOM will be among families, but among young adults at least it should be really, really good.
I also ran into a friend in the parking lot before BH6 that just saw Interstellar with a couple of her friends, and they all loved it.

Saw Big Hero 6
Century 25 4:15 show 525 seats A little more than half full (excellent crowd for this theater).
Trailers were Annie, Little Boy, Tomorrowland, Inside Out. People clapped at the end. This will get great WOM. As for myself, I liked this movie better than Frozen. The characters were memorable, and the script was very well thought out. Funny, emotional, and most of all, lots of fun. The most fun I had at the movies all theater. This will easily win the Best Animated Feature film. My whole family loved it. Grade: A.

I saw Laggies at 7:15 and it was in a 69 seat theater. It was a huge turn out. Besides my boyfriend and I there was one other person there. Trailers were for The Interview, Horrible Bosses 2, The Boy Next Door, Wild, Top Five, A Most Violent Year and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

I saw Interstellar at 7pm. Standard digital projection. It was nearly sold out in a large auditorium. The trailers shown were for Big Eyes, Furious 7, The Gambler, The Homesman, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and Selma.

Re: Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (November 4th - 9th)
I think it's hilarious that an Interstellar trailer was attached to my screening of Big Hero 6 yesterday. I guess it did its job though, someone in back of me said "we should see that" to whoever they were with.

Big Hero 6 2D @ 3:35 PM Saturday Trailers shown for SpongeBob: Sponge Out of Water, Minions, Hillsong, Annie, The Penguins of Madagascar, Tomorrowland, Inside Out SpongeBob and Minions got great reactions, but the weird Hillsong trailer put people out of it and the remaining trailers were silent. I think people just wanted the damn movie to start. About 80% full in a large auditorium, lots of families.
The audience however seemed to love the entire film. There was audible laughter throughout and there was loud applause at the end. Legs should be good.

Re: Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (November 4th - 9th)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 @ 9:30 PM Friday Trailers shown for The Age of Adaline, Night at the Museum Secret of the Tomb, Jupiter Ascending, Pitch Perfect 2, Project Almanac, Unbroken, Star Wars: The Force Awakens About sold out in a medium auditorium (This was after the 8:30 showing was sold out. I sat outside Interstellar and could hear the film. Should've gotten there earlier.) Adaline had a little chatter, and Night at the Museum and Pitch Perfect had audible laughter. Unfortunately, the others were silent, even Star Wars . The crowds reaction was hard to read. There was actually a lot of laughter at the banter between characters like Effie and Haymitch. But there was not a lot of cheering or anything. At the end, applause were scattered.
