:)

Thor's Sunday drop is in line with how films behave during this time of year.

X2 fell to 17M in its 3rd weekend when Matrix Reloaded debuted.

TASM fell to 10M after TDKR hit theaters

Any thoughts to how Thor will perform?

still, 2m drop is significant. That puts it drop much closer to IM3. 215m+ is still going to happen IMO but 225m+ got a lot harder to achieve with that kind of drop.

Lol 225m was out of the question after the weak weekdays.

I remember people saying Avengers effect and Loki's "huge popularity" and Chris Hemsworth rising star was going to take Thor 2 to 250m or higher. Looks like these things did not help the movie as much as people thought

It still had a huge jump overseas. 650 million WW is still pretty good.

Box Office Guru still thinks it could get to 250 Million.

I'm gonna say no.

Catching Fire is gonna hurt Thor's late legs significantly more than Breaking Dawn did to Skyfall.

I don't think it will go that high either but Thanksgiving should definitely give it a boost.

Wow!! Over-estimation overall or maybe something happened on Sunday?

Thor's drop moved from good to average with an almost $2m drop. Just noticed that 12YAS is not doing great for a movie with HUGE Awards buzz and good WOM.

The Best Man Holiday might have taken a bite out of Slave's audience a bit. But even so I'm unsure how WOM is among mainstream moviegoers. The violence sounds pretty unpleasant.

That's also one of the reasons I found for the movie not making big money. It was never going to be an easy watch and McQueen is known for extreme brutality in movies (ofcourse in a good way but not for mainstream audience).

Despicable Me 2 keeps chugging along. Excellent late
legs. Since dropping below $1m wknds, it has made about $5
million! It is still above $1000 pta!

Not to take away anything from its total but the competition for family audience have been slim and quite a few movies aiming that demograph have had good/great legs. Even Percy Jackson that is semi-action family movie eeked out good legs due to lack of competition. We didn't have anything significant in October and the next big one is going to be Frozen. That's a HUGE gap for a big movie for families.

Tru dat. It's just cool to see films sticking around that long with $1000+ PTA. When I started tracking this stuff (early 90s) it was commonplace...now not so much.

Ofcourse it does show how it is connecting well with audience. Not many movies do THIS well for so many months nowadays even with less competition. But I believe there is always some non-arranged marketing now going for this movie with the merchandise so very hot in the market.

It does not mean much on such a small scale, but Great Expectations had a great hold for a film which opened with a poor per-theatre average and no doubt lost showtimes at several theatres. Only a thirteen percent drop.
