If Hangover 2 can increase today (admittedly a big "if"), it has a shot at the R-rated OW record. :D

No amount of spinning can convince me Panda is anything other than a disappointment. Even the most optimistic increases and decreases this weekend will give it less than 70mil for the 4-day, something extremely few (if any) saw. Huge win for tracking.

A 45% drop for THOR in it's 3rd week is as impressive as gets with the competition.. You can't deny this folks..

Having Heats finishing off Bulls on Thursday and eliminating a Saturday showdown will likely help today's box office, especially for a film like Hangover 2. The biggest sporting event today is actually Champions League final, but the interests in the states are much smaller, although I'm still very interested to see the actual rating since if I remember right, it's normally on ESPN on a Wednesday in the past, not Sat on a national TV channel like Fox.

Panda is one of the biggest surprises I've seen in a while. Thought it looked like a huge hit. Everyone I know loved Panda 1

I expect it to have good legs but they can only be so good

The 3D share is good. That suggests actual admissions are higher which doesn't paint as bad a picture as if it were a larger 3D %.

Yeah I always wondered that because it would have been huge at the time. I am guessing it was because Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller both got big at the same time and it would have been near impossible to resign them for a sequel.

not surprised at the underwhelming performance of Panda. I liked the first film. The second is not bad but its not great. Characters are lackluster and the story is nowhere near as clever as the first.

They should have waited till they had a really good marketable concept for a sequel. The villian felt like they put him together in an overnight session of brainstorming and pizza. But none of that would affect the grosses on opening weekend if they had done a decent marketing push.

There was fairly good will from the first film amongst viewers that if they had built some hype for it it would have returned better bo opening weekend.

I see a fast fall off for this one. Its too bad cause the characters have potential but the creators didnt bother to use it much this time around.

There is plenty of time to make a sequel to that film still, i dont think any of the principles are dead yet. The problem is what do you follow that with? It pretty much wrapped up nice and neat.

I don't see how Panda will fall fast. When Cars 2 opens it's pretty much done, but until then it should have very good holds.

well if there are no other kid friendly films coming it might benefit from the lul till cars 2.

Speaking of which i love pixar but refused to see cars when it first came out thinking it was just not appealing. I finally caught it and i have to say its actually heck of a lot better than i expected, definately better than bugs life.

That makes it less impressive. It should be holding better at this point, especially on a holiday weekend.

You could say this is one of the worst drops for any movie of all time, actually.

Jesus, in it's 4th fucking week, it's still in the Top 5 with a 45% drop that doesn't occur with many movies a month later.. It's a damn good movie and moviegoers love it..
