My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done. Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties. Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I’m going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won’t come back. When I was in it I wanted out! So typical. I’m on about being a teenager: sitting around and chatting shit, not caring about the future because it didn’t matter then like it does now. The ability to be flippant about everything and there be no consequences. Even following and breaking rules… is better than making the rules.
25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realising. And I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.

"Hello" is going to crush the record for biggest digital debut (Flo Rida's "Right Round" with 636,000 sold in its first week), cruising past 1 million and possibly even doubling the previous record. It's number 1 pretty much everywhere in the world with a few minor exceptions, and the best part is that she's hardly had to do any promotion for it; she just dropped the song and it took off. I absolutely love Adele, so I'm happy that she's doing this well (again) and I'm looking forward to seeing just how big "25" will be when it drops in a few weeks. Edit: I need to not take so long to write so little, because damnit Mau.

Re: Adele Returns The song is a little cliche if you ask me. It's written from the perspective of someone who dwells on the past after years from breaking up. She is trying to hang on to the moment of youth and being in love and hoping to make amends, but the person on the other side is far and away and probably does not care. Perfect karaoke song.

I can agree with you when it comes to other genres such as electronica or funk. But this is pop ballad. And Adele is a singer-songwriter (she claims she has written a "make-up" album after 21 was a "break-up" album.). Words/messages are an essential part of her music.

He was a douche, and an insecure idiot that always tried to belittle others by trying to "educate" them on things that don't need to be taught. He was a prick. He grew a goatee and wore a long black leather jacket because he was short and trying to compensate for it.
