A friend of mine is a huge Lifehouse fan, but verall the band is very unknown over here in Europe.

Lifehouse has been one of my favorite bands since the release of their first album, No Name Face, in 2000. I'd even say 3 of my favorite songs of all-time have come from that CD: Hanging by a Moment, Breathing, and Everything. If you haven't heard any of these (though it's doubtful you haven't heard Hanging by a Moment by now), do so.
I rarely find a pop/alternative band whose music I can stand, but they seem to have found a niche in not trying to dip below either side of that line.
I also bought their new CD. I've only listened to it a couple times, and although it's no comparison to their first album, it's got some standouts. Blind is great, and as I said before, their first single, You and Me, is probably the best I've heard from them since No Name Face.

You like Sarah McLachlan and Frou Frou too?

It is from their latest, "Lifehouse", the most originally titled CD ever, eh?

I've never heard an album of theirs but...
Lifehouse fun fact: "Hanging on a Moment" was the most played song on US radio in 2000.

I've listened to the album more now, and although I still don't think it matches (or really even comes close to) their first album, it's a pretty good effort.
A lot of their stuff this time around is more in keeping with Hanging by a Moment-esque upbeat tracks (even more upbeat than that, actually). Gone are the somber tracks of the first album, such as the awesome Everything (one of my all-time favorites), but the upbeatness works and even tends to complement Wade's voice more so than some of their earlier stuff.
If you're interested in it, be sure to check out the first 3 tracks, which are by far the best: Come Back Down, You and Me, and Blind.
