Scissor Sisters: What Do You Think?
Personally, they drive me crazy because I absolutely hate the image, yet I watch them when I see them on TV and I don't change the station when I hear them on the radio. The singer reminds me a lot of Elton John.
I feel so gay for starting a thread about Scissor Sisters.

They were alright when they opened for Depeche Mode along with She Wants Revenge but it's not my type of music.

I keep hearing raves from music critics, but I've never heard them yet.
Maybe I'll pick up their CD or something.

Nah, I've converted a macho coworker into liking Scissor Sisters, so don't feel too gay.
I have their new CD but I haven't listened to all of them yet, but so far, I like I Don't Feel Like Dancing and Paul McCartney.

What's this new trend about naming songs after unrelated people? I hope someone releases a song called "Katie Couric" or "Rosie O'Donell" just to highlight the sheer randomness of it.

You mentioning Rosie O'Donnell is as random as you working in a lesbian-friendly hardware store.
Oh wait...

Actually, I've noticed a lot of gay couples that shop there, and not so many lesbians. But then again, I work in the gardening area.

Wow I didnt even realize they had a huge gay following. I like some of their songs on the radio that they play on a indy station. The bands I listen to like the Smith and Queen have huge gay followings so that must make me gay for liking them

I think the gay following stems from the fact that 3 out of 4 (I think) of the guys in the band are gay.
Hey, at least you like some of their music.

Can't believe there are still people who don't realise that the Scissor Sisters are essentially a gay band, they are massive gay icons over here in the UK.
As for the album it's not as immediate as their first, I had to work alot harder to get into it, but a decent follow up.

Re: Scissor Sisters: What Do You Think?
They're great. They're not new to me. I was into them back in 2004 or 05 when I was mesmerized by "Laura", especially when paired with the video. I guess I had a case of the 'Straight Eye for the Queer Guy', but anyway I've just rediscovered their existence and enjoying all their songs again. "Kiss You Off" is such a cool, confident song. Well, all of their songs are confident, but I love its 80s feel.
I pretty much like all their songs. Their vibe is very much one of exuberance and verve. "She's My Man" is excellent, "Comfortably Numb" is just an awesome dance tune, and obviously "I Don't Feel Like Dancin" and "Take Your Mama" are memorable and catchy too.
It's a shame they're not around anymore. But I guess there are always acts that are hot for a few years, give us some iconic tunes that are tied to a particular year or era or trend, then fade, such as Savage Garden and The Darkness, two other GREAT groups.
