Post How full is your Ipod
I dont have an Ipod yet but I am wanting one so bad right now. I have been putting country cds on my computer today and was curious just now to see how many GB i would take up on an Ipod. I would have it 75%full as I have almost 17GB of music on my computer(900 songs though). I was thinking oh crap but then I was like other people probally have more. So how many songs/GB of music u have on your computer and how full is your Ipod of those songs

Unless each song is like 13 minutes long and is ripped at a high, high bitrate, you should not have 17 GB of music.

My iPod Mini is 99.9% full. I should probably clean it all out and start from scratch again.

BTW, 17/20 = .85, not .75. So if you did have 17 GB, your iPod would be 85% full (Actually more since it's not really 20 GB but more like 19.6. Games/Software/Everything else pre-installed take up some space).

they are ripped high but they arent 13 minutes long. I wasnt really going for an actual percentage but thats for that math. But right at the bottom of all my song on my computer 52 hours and 17.35GB now with 833 songs. I am guessing at this rate all my cds will make at least 25 GB which is weird. It cant be that much with only 1,000 songs(i probaly have that many)

I have a 10 GB, and I don't think I've ever had it more than 10% full, even with Podcasts and such.

I loves me iPod and use it a lot, but I keep songs in rotation, both on it and on my computer. I mean, 10 gigs is nice, but meh. Loading schmoding.

I've had mine for around a month and a half, and I have around 300 songs right now.

I haven't uploaded the songs from my CD's yet, though.

WWW, you dont have 17 gigs. unless...well, unless you did something wrong..

900 songs, 52 hours = 7 gb at the MOST.

l only have about 400 on my music machine (not ipod), but l have at least double that on my comp...probably 850 or so...

and its only 4.6 gb.

so...if you only got 1000 songs on a 20g iPod, you're getting screwed.

I have 32 gigs of stuff... about 24gigs of music at the moment.

One of my cases of CD's at 192kbps VBR MP3 is roughly 1200 songs... ~7gigs.

I have 7 cases and boxes of singles. Some of it I haven't transfered yet.

I have 500 songs, my ipod can fit like 1000 songs. Not sure what gigs it is, but its the mini. I don't think I'd need anything more than that. I mean its all rotation. If I had a cd collection and I put it all on there, yes maybe, but I don't really have any full cds on it. If I listen to a cd its on a discman or stereo/playstation. For some reason it just seems much more legit to listen to cds where the cd is actually being used. I always liked it that way.

each song for me is playing at 1Mbps or more. I have about 650 below that but are still high like 900 and 800, I chose the soundless options on wmp.
