Post US Stars that are way more popular offshores
Ive noticed that many "huge stars" to people in UK, Europe, Australia and Asia are NOT huge stars in the USA.

Strangely most of these stars tend to be american.

Off the top of my head; Kelis has had huge success both in the US and globally - but shes really firey globally; Trick Me matched Milshake in most places.

Other big names include Anastacia; whos regularly in top 5 sellers across the world over the last few years; yet she has barely impacted America.

Robbie Williams was way too cocky. Hes the worlds biggest male star for sure in music; and he got paid something like $100m for his last record deal. So here he came rolling into America thinking that it was as good as done and the concept of hard work had been lost to him a long time ago. Hes too rough around the edges to succeed as an American pop star.

By the way, Williams is British and was in the pop group Take That.

Anastacia rocks...her latest, "Everything Burns" wasn't too hot (Excuse unintended pun), but most of her other singles have been catchy, singalong numbers. I think she's got a brilliant voice. Her chart run has been Okay here, but her albums sell well.

3 Left Outside Alone
4 Sick And Tired
6 I'm Outta Love
11 Not That Kind
11 One Day In Your Life
14 Paid My Dues
21 Heavy On My Heart
25 Welcome To My Truth
25 Why'd You Lie To Me
27 Made For Lovin' You
28 Cowboys And Kisses
31 You'll Never Be Alone

So she's had THREE top 10 singles. SIX top 20 singles. TWELVE top 30's and ONE outside the top 30.

Albums is a better story:

1 Anastacia
2 Not That Kind
4 Freak Of Nature

Nice. She's a good artist.

Left Out Side alone rocks. and I'm Outta Love is kindofa Kareoke/PopIdol/Classic.

Without a doubt Anastacia, as most have said. She is HUGE overseas, yet Freak of Nature debuted at #27 on Billboard's US Album Chart, average at best, and quickly faded. Shame, since I'm a huge fan, although it's a good thing I bought her self-titled debut as an import (since it hasn't been released her yet, and probably won't for awhile).

I also think Kylie Minogue is way more popular overseas, but she's relatively well known here, just not to the extent overseas where she is a household name.

Left outside Alone was one of the biggest selling singles of the UK last year; and the album i believe is also a top 5 annual seller.

Her best song easily though is Welcome To My Truth

As opthers have said, Anastacia is the first who comes to my mind. She's always huge in Germany at least.

Anastacia is supposed to have sold in excess of 25 million albums worldwide; whcih when you consider she only has released three and has no US profile really is pretty amazing.
