Laundry Service was fun, exciting latin music with themes and strong timing. The songs were all memorable. Not so with Fixation Oral; theres an array of very very good songs on it - but none of them have the same distinctive punch as say; Whenever, Wherever or Eyes Like Yours.
I actually think lots of the songs are "growers" as such over time.
I love La Tortura, La Pared, En Tus Papilas, Dia Especial and Obtener un Si.
Las De La Intuicion is very, very camp. But i quite enjoy it.
Worst song is easily Escondite Ingles Ha! Eyes Like Yours is the worst song Shak has ever recorded. It's horrible. Have you heard Ojos Asi?
And No is one of the best songs of the new album.
But I guess we can agree to disagree?

Ojos Asi was a magnificent song. Eyes Like Yours was an abomination.

Like i said sometimes ago, its always a BAD idea when an artist make two diferent versions of a song; one English, one Spanish

But in general I think it's just plain unneeded tor ecord a song in two different languages.
Which is why I'm glad Oral Fixation 2 will be all new songs. And I'm reaaallly hoping it's better than LS. Shakira has the potential to do for pop music what Madonna did for it in the 80s. But not with CDs like Laundry Service.

The original Tortura is infinitely better than the remix. It's like a sped up vallenato mixed with a bit of reggaetón, and the result is so impressive. The Shaketón remix, on the other hand, is a poor man's reggaetón song, a wannabe, and a bad one at that.
