Speeding Cars -- Imogen Heap
Perhaps I have an unnatural obsession with her music but I find this song to be very good. Not quite as good as "Hide and Seek" which is possibly one of my all time favorite songs but still very good.

Goodnight and Go, Speeding Cars and Hide and Seek make up a good portion of my most listened to music on iTunes.

Yknow, I was /this/ close to going to an instore performance she put on at a local shop recently (the show was sold out very far in advanced). I figured I'd get an autograph and then like, auction it off to one of you.
But instead, I slept. :O (she was coming at like noon, or something.)

Rob Thomas - This Is How a Heart Breaks
This is it now, everybody get down, this is all I can take, this is how a heart breaks, you take a hit now, you feeling breakdown, make me stay while I wait, this is how a heart breaks. Don't you wanna go for a ride down to the other side, feels so good you can cry now why won't you do what I told you, I remember when you used to be shy, yeah once we were fine, why you gotta make it so hard on me, it's hard on me, and I'm sorry but it's not a mistake, and I'm running but you're getting away, this is it now, everybody get down, this is all I can take, this is how a heart breaks, you take a hit now, you feeling breakdown, make me stay while I wait, this is how a heart breaks.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Dani California
Gettin' born in the state of Mississippi, poppa was a copper and momma was a hippy, in Alabama she would swing a hammer, price you gotta pay when you pick the Panorama, she never knew there was anything more than poor, what in the world does your company take me for, black bandanda, sweet Louisiana, robbin' all the banks in the state of Indiana, she's a runner rebel and a stoner, come in everywhere saying baby what you gonna do, looking down the barrel of a hot metal 45, just another way to survive, California rest in peace, simultaneous release, California show your teeth, she's my priestess, I'm your priest.

So i decided to research this chick.
Apparently shes British, from London. Despite her distinctly Americanised video. Shes half Indian and quarter french
She's had a long history. To make the album this single is from, she was budgeted £50k. She found it unsufficient and remortgaged her home to fund it.
"Her second album, Fires, was released in April 2005 on her own independent label, Idaho. It was published by Chrysalis Music Publishing
The album was preceded by a download-only single, "Everybody's Gone To War". A second single from the record, "Damascus" was released in June 2005, and a third, "All Good People" (a Radio 2 single of the week) was released in September 2005.
After signing with 14th Floor Records (see below), a re-issue of the album which will be more 'spangly' (Ms Pallot's words) is being recorded, and will feature additional strings on some tracks and was released on April 24, 2006, earning Pallot a chart success at #41 and later reaching #27.
The first single from the revamped album was "Everybody's Gone To War", which was playlisted on most major British radio stations. A video can be seen on most music television stations and on her Myspace profile. The single became a #3 airplay smash
"
So this song is now available for itunes AND buying upfront. I hope it goes top 10 tonight.
Her album is suddenly appearing in top 20s of Amazon, Play etc.
Such a bizarre path to finally reach success. But damn, good for her. On her myspace her "influences" includ everyone from Britney Spears (srsly) to Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Shes hot shit ive decided.
By the way, the record label that signed her up this year and is doing this whole re-release thing is the same label that holds Damien Rice and David Gray. It means, if everything clicks correctly, she could be one of the biggest stars of UK music.
