As Demi's song ends, all girls strut to left stage, put on Mickey Mouse ears and sing "3" in a manner that will surely have people talking the next day. (Hint..Hint...think 2003) As their shocking performance ends, lights fade up on Katy Perry who is soon joined by Rihanna in singing "Hold It Against Me". As their song ends, Nicki Minaj comes from the back of the audience wearing a ringleader outfit and singing her "World Ends" verse. As she finishes, all eyes shift to Britney who performs her song with Sabi. (Details of this will be available later) Before Video of the Year is presented, there will be a video monage of Britney videos with excerpts of stars thanking Britney for her contributions to music including: Miley Cyrus (confirmed), Lady Gaga (confirmed), Justin Timberlake (unconfirmed), Selena Gomez (confirmed), Joe Jonas (confirmed), Will.I.Am (unconfirmed), and Christina Aguilera (unconfirmed). As the video ends, Madonna enters the stage, makes a brief statement and presents Britney the Lifetime Achievement Award.

I was getting desperate as I wanted to go but I was short on money. This came like an early Christmas present!

Well. I'm sad she cut away three songs from the US setlist. But I can't complain as I got free tickets. Otherwise I'd feel slightly ripped off.

The bad thing was the the arena was barely 50% full. And they didn't even sell tickets for the upper ring.

But the show was good, Britney was fun, she was smiling the whole time even if she wasn't that much into dancing. Without the catwalk the fan pit was ridiculous because it was just the floor being cut into two parts. And considering that the fan pit was at most 2/3 full there was a gap which was hilarious to see. I don't see why they didn't move the fence so we on the floor could get closer to the stage. I think they could've moved it at least 20 feet closer.

Then they added the Nicki Minaj verse. In her 45-second evisceration, Nicki manages to squeeze in chicken noises and the words "poultry," "Epsom salt," and "Ricki Lake"-- not to mention the immortal diss "Sniff, sniff, criiiies/ I done slayed your entire fucking liiiiife." (Fact: In 2011, pretty much any song in the world could be made infinitely better by the addition of a Nicki Minaj verse.) Sprinkle a little bit of Ke$ha, the song's co-writer, on the chorus, and you've got a three-headed diva Hydra that sums up the recent changing of the femme pop guard from airbrushed and perfect to (relatively) weird and chaotic. It's the year's greatest quickie cash-in remix created to boost the chart position of a floundering single. Considering the ubiquity of the practice, that's saying something. --Amy Phillips
