Before you go slagging of Britney Spears - that song was penned by Cathy Dennis - one of musics most powerful songwriters right now whos penned many huge superhits. So in essence your not slagging of Britney Spears; your slagging of a hugely succesful songwriter whos formula has provided her with ALOT of money and success.

Plus i think Toxic is lyrical genius.

Kanye West is sure a talented producer - he knows the ins and outs; but his lyrics are still weak and his voice simply isnt one that suits the stuff he presents.

I don't even know what it has to do with anything, since she didn't go up against Kanye in anything at the Gramys, but Britney/Hilary fans always seem to manae to bring up more talented artists and say how they are not as talented as the amazing Britney?

Being a good producer is not enough to consider someone talented? Pleeeeease...I can name a dozen classic songs with ho-hum lyrics/vocals that are classics because of its production. Can you name a classic song with bad production?

But his talent goes beyond producing. you know, ugh. I can't even believe I'm defending his talent now, that what you music know-it-alls make me do.

Cathy Dennis is very talented, Britney not so much, I can take the song Ms. Dennis wrote, have osmeone else sing and it still be popular.

I like Toxic, but I think another popular singer could have ridden to success. Spears has anice body, is a good dancer, and yes she sing, but I could say that about alot of singers.

West has some excellent lyrics, for example All Falls Down, a great song because it cathes your attention, and at the same time has some very important ideas to convey, as does Jesus Walks. Sure Slow Jamz is not Shakespeare, its just fun.

At the end of the day if you ask who is more talented, West or Spears, I'm picking West each and every day of the week.

Well, Kanye and Britney are two very different styles, so I don't really see why they're being compared.

I like both, but if I had to pick I'd pick Britney, since she entertains me more. And I think Toxic is the best pop song of the last decade. Very deserving win.

You're completely missing the point though.

Certain people are claiming Britney Spears is a more talented artist, and while I do like her music...she's mnot very resposible for it. She co-writes some of it, but anyone could do the same job, it features her vocals, they're not that great to the point where only she could achieve the songs...she doesn't produce or anything.

Kanye on the other hand is almost completely resposible for the music that is released under his name.

i don;t recall saying "Britney is more talented than Kanye" i do recall saying kanye is not as talented as people put him out to be and he did not deserve his grammy wins. I am not saying britney is a high ranged vocalists that can sing top of the line but i am saying i like her voice.

Kanye West is miles ahead of Britney. Some of Britney's music is really good, and In The Zone was her best album, but I don't think she compares to Kanye West at all. He's a very intelligent guy, that not only produces his own music, but writes all of his own material, and they are filled with meaningful lyrics. Britney's material lacks anything mature, but its fun to listen to. Just my two cents.

Rod when will you accept the fact, I do not like britney as much as i used to, I have never thought that and i never will. The bands and artists i listen to now all have meaningful lyrics and are 100x better than anything kanye could ever come up with. I still believe that most of kanyes lyrics suck but i still THINK"my opinion" that britney still has better lyrics.
