Does anyone here remember the LOONIES?
It is very dead here at workd today and I was searching mojo for an old thread that I created. While sifting through the speakeasy, I was surprised to see so many threads dedicated to Mav, BKB and myself that berated us for our anti LOTR stance. Now the funniest thing is, is that Mav and myself actaully like the films but more times than not, just created threads to create balance in the land of mojo because it was dominated so severely by the LOTR Loonies. I had fun looking back at the old times. Many of the diatribes on both ends were fun and so many people took it so seriously. I remember betting someone my house that ROTK would not win best picture. LOL...good thing they did not follow through with that bet. Man, those times really halped make mojo as fun a place as it was back then. Does anyone else have any fun memories of loonie bashing or loonie "sticking up for"? It is a time that will be recalled with nothing but reverence. \:D/

You guys were faking it?!?! I feel so used and dirty.
Was I the only one on earth that truly disliked the trilogy?

I remember it well, baumer. I remember the cynical delight in watching a thread expand to 10 pages at breakneck speed. My favorite thread that I created, was my cynical look at TTT, which was a direct response to all of the other bashings that were going on toward other movies by the pro LOTR group. Several loonies didn't care for it when the tables were turned, and I especially enjoyed torturing my old buddy moviebuf (who I miss around these parts. ), as he would do backflips defending his beloved movies.

Aside from the LOTR psychos, I remember that moviedog guy who was obsessed with bashing Pirates of the Caribbean.

Nothing compares to the Matrix fanboys. Especially after Reloaded's second weekend. And we...er...I mean they tried to pass it off as nothing.

Not saying there was, but pretty much every post of his was undermining the movie in some way.

You'll never take down the Petorians! (See, if you watched Family Guy, you would get that reference)

Yea, I miss the good old days as well. I enjoyed the bashing and the rivalries and the days when me and mav and bkb were "taking on" guys like victor and nazgul and so on. It was so much fun. \:D/
