Post Afghanistan: At least 24 dead in violence
Yesterday...
Quote:
At least 24 people have been killed in five separate attacks across west, east and north Afghanistan, officials say.

Casualty figures for April suggest that about 182 people have been killed in violence in Afghanistan this month, making it the bloodiest of 2013.

Some of the worst incidents took place in the west, where seven people were killed and three injured after a roadside bomb hit a civilian truck.

Afghan police have blamed the Taliban for the attack in Herat province.

The civilians were travelling to the town of Shindand when their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device on Wednesday morning.

Women and children were among the casualties, provincial government spokesman Mohidin Noori said.

Wow. Da fuck. Awful. I hope those women and children can live again.

This is so sad. My prayers and thoughts are with Afghanistan.

Does anyone find it funny that Algren is sending his condolences to these people but none to the horrible things that have happened this week in the US? If this doesn't spell out T-R-O-L-L, I don't know what does. :P

But in any case, this is terrible. RIP

So your definition of a troll is: someone that doesn't type "RIP" for atrocities that happened in the US?

Lol.

I happen to think that a built-up country like the US can cope when things like this happen. Afghanistan, on the other hand, can not, besides I really don't feel anything when I read the two stories about Boston and Texas.

30+ people were also murdered by a US drone strike that brutally attacked a wedding....RIP to all the victims, I don't really know what it will take for the violence in Afghanistan to end.

I want to return to the point in human history when there was no violence. When Person A was not ready to murder Person B for what Person B has. It was...

It was...

Technology and the speed with which information travels has just changed what was always an essential component of society and the human condition.

My sig has the answer. He sorted it out once. He can do it again.

Joking aside, I really do not know either. The Taliban are recruiting faster than the US/Afghan Police can kill them. I guess the US leaving there now is not an option because the Taliban would just rule Afghanistan if they did. But they should never have gone in in the first place as it's not their war.

Well, Adam didn't kill Eve, and vice versa. ;)

Exactly.

This is a serious story. Not just some story about a person that temporarily lost their hearing due to an explosion. They've lost their lives. No coming back.

All I'm saying is that it is a weird thing to hope for. You usually hope for something that is at least hypothetically possible. You could hope for peace...

I'm not actually hoping for that, though. I'm being snarky. Check the other thread and you'll see.

I know you don't give a fuck about any people who die. :) Yet, I still have fun picking apart the wording.

Probably us getting totally out of their country so it's not on our hands anymore. It's pretty ridiculous that we've spent 10 years there and were not able to defeat the Taliban and all the insurgents regardless of faction. It's a complete disaster defeat and clearly wasn't worth the time, money or effort. At least anything past the first couple years of occupation.

The US must be used to not being able to beat under-equipped, underskilled farmers from an undeveloped country.

Well, there is, but it's not a mistake like you were trying to make out. It's the same words as used by someone in the other thread...but I've changed one word to highlight the seriousness of this thread in relation to the other one.

I was ready to give you credit for starting the thread until I read this. You're really a sad person, Algren, if you're only posting this to prove some sort of ridiculous point and further your agenda. I hope you have some semblance of a life, 'cause it just looks like you have way too much free time on your hands to post on here about violence and death in Afghanistan ONLY to rub it in our noses that there's a world outside of North America, which we, you know, already knew.
