 Anyone know how to unlock a phone? I need to unlock my dad's phone because we're going to Cingular and he doesn't want to pay for a new phone.
Anyone know how?

I have a Nokia, and you hit the upper left button, then the "star" (*) button in the bottom left.

I think people are confused, heh. I'm not talking about "unlocking" as in unlocking the keypad. I'm referring to unlocking your cell phone so you can take your phone to different carriers without restriction. It requires a code or program that I don't know how to function or find.

Can't really help you much with a motorola, but a while back I unlocked my nokia phone, downloaded some sort of code calculator, knocked in the number and it worked.
