Dealing with Time Warner is an absolute nightmare.
Seriously. I have had more issues with them in the past two weeks. My DVR box stopped working and they weren't able to come fix it for nearly a week, so I was without cable. Whatever. I dealt with it.
I'm moving, and I have tried to schedule for them to move my service THREE DIFFERENT TIMES. Each time the order was lost and they had to reschedule it farther away since all appointments were lost, just for it to get lost again.
Well today I called and the guy said the soonest they could do it was on Wednesday and they would try to fit it in sometime before then and he would call me later tonight when they had to go to move it ahead.
I waited 5 hours until nearly midnight and still no phone call.
I called back, the guy was gone and I found out my service isn't scheduled to be moved until the 21st and the department that was open couldn't really do anything about it and I have to call tomorrow morning and complain.
This puts me in a jam because they are the only cable service in my area, but I've had it. We have an internet company here that I can go through, so I'm honestly thinking about just downloading and going through Hulu for my television shows because this is getting ridiculous.

Re: Dealing with Time Warner is an absolute nightmare.
I hate how we as customers are held hostage by limited choices. You apparently have one cable option. I have two cable options. Then of course there is satellite but that is expensive with their limited data caps.
Unfortunately for you since they are your only internet. I would just continue to complain and write a letter to their complaint department or corporate office and get a big credit for all this mess but word it in a professional manner of course.

https://aereo.com/This may work well for you. I'd suggest that + Netflix or Hulu. Aereo is also expanding locations, maybe a new one is near you so you can get some local channels in the near future? Aereo is $80 a year, and gives you HD of all the major networks, plus 40 hours of DVR storage, and can be streamed to tons of devices. Laptop + HDMI out and you can throw it all to a TV.

Re: Dealing with Time Warner is an absolute nightmare.
I've never heard of that, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks Eagle. I was actually thinking about just getting internet from Windstream and signing up for Hulu Plus and Netflix. It would certainly be a hell of a lot cheaper. Are most shows on the air on HP? And how long does it take for them to be on there after they air on TV? I was so pissed off last night I wrote a book on their Facebook wall. I didn't think anything would happen, I just had to let off steam. I wasn't rude or anything, but I was very clear I was pretty disgusted with the service and if something didn't fix this problem that I would be leaving ASAP. Someone replied to the message at 3:30AM and the person said they were very sorry about everything and asked if I could message my account info. So I did that and she said she was talking to a tech and they were trying to move my date but couldn't guarantee it and they would call me when it was all said and done. Yeah, because that promise has worked so well before. They still haven't called. I just woke up, I think I am going to call in a few minutes. I have a friend who used to work as a CSR at Time Warner and he said just start out calm and say what has happened, be very assertive about how angry I am and near the end of everything threaten to get rid of my account and you will have them by the balls and they will do ANYTHING to help you. I'm not like that at all, but I'm going to just to see if it works. I'm not out for free stuff or whatever but I certainly believe I deserve SOMETHING for all of this nonsense.

Re: Dealing with Time Warner is an absolute nightmare.
This is what I wrote on their FB...
I have had so many issues the past few days and I am getting nowhere with your customer service, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me.
I live in Manlius, NY and every since I have had Time Warner, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. It seems as if something happens every couple of weeks and I am treated like crap by the customer service department. My last two problems...
1) On Saturday my cable box stopped working. I called Time Warner and after being on hold for 45 minutes, I finally got a customer service rep. She told me someone would come out to look at my box on Tuesday and I asked her if there was anyway that someone could come sooner because I was having a Superbowl party the next day, and the party wouldn't work so well without a television. She looked and she said yes, between noon and 5 that somebody would be there. Later in the night, I got a phone call saying I had a service appointment on Tuesday after 3. I called you guys back again explaining the situation and they said there was nothing they could do, and it had to be on Tuesday. I kept my mouth shut, and said that it was fine. On Sunday, while I was walking up the street, there was a Time Warner truck. Seriously? They couldn't take five minutes to replace my box? Uhh. Ok. Then to make matters worse, when they called on Tuesday, I missed the call (I was in the bathroom). I called the number back literally 45 seconds later, nobody answered. Called two more times, nobody answered. My appointment was canceled. They couldn't have waited even a minute to see if I would call back? I had to wait ANOTHER day to get the box.
2) I am moving, and need to move my service. I called for the first time about a week and a half ago. They said that somebody would be here on Friday after 2. Alright, sounds perfect. I never got a phone call confirming the appointment or an e-mail, so a couple days later I called just to make sure I still had my appointment. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I found out no, I don't have my appointment. It wasn't scheduled. So I go through the whole process again to switch my service. This time, the CSR has no idea what he is doing and keeps screwing up something on the computer (he literally told me this). He told me nobody could come out on Friday and the soonest would be Tuesday. Alright, whatever. I will wait another couple of days. Again, no call, no email, so I'm not completely sure if the appointment was scheduled. I called today and it wasn't. AGAIN, I call to reschedule it since my order hasn't gone through twice. The CSR was very helpful, got me on a new plan that better suited what I wanted and listened to my complaints. He told me that they couldn't come out until Wednesday but he will try to make it sooner since he understands why I was annoyed since I was trying to make the appointment for the past week and a half. He promised me he would call me back tonight. He said that he made a note of it on his calendar and his supervisor was aware of it and he WOULD call me back. Well, around midnight I said "when is he going to call back? It's getting kind of late." So I call back. Oh! The department is called and I am transferred to billing. I explain my problem and told him that I just wanted to know if I had an appointment and when it was. He then informed me that I had an appointment scheduled for the 21st. REALLY? Over a week away. After I have been trying to make an appointment for over a week and a half? I have literally spent over 3 hours on the phone with TWC the past two weeks, and this is getting ridiculous. No CSR has righted the wrong (neither of them in this case) and quite frankly, most of them are quite rude and act like they don't care.
Can you explain why I am paying $175 a month for cable and internet to be treated like this? I do have DVR and premium channels, but still. I am paying for a service that I am simply not getting. Nobody seems to care about the issues and nothing has been resolved.
I am honestly thinking about switching because I can't take this anymore at all. So PLEASE tell me that there is something that you guys can do, because I'm at wits end.

I subscribe to Hulu Plus - they have pretty much everything that airs on NBC, ABC, FOX and The CW the day after airing, and a catalogue of a lot of cable shows that they add right after as well. Nothing from CBS.
