Within a 24 hour period, what is the most you spent on reading.

And I don't mean reading including breaks, snacks, etc., just pure, non-adulterated reading.

For me, it was 10hrs and 40 minutes (yes, I kept track).

I read Revenge of the Sith 3 times in 14 hours. So far though I have read it 12 times.

Did that include breaks? Because I'm talking about having your eyes fixed on the page and just reading. Taking a break wouldn't count. If you got 14hours exluding breaks, then wow, that's amazing.

Back when Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I made it from noon, into the car to Memphis (road trip to see family) then out of the car and stopped reading at around 1.

I technically did "break" but I was still reading when I went ot the bathroom

That's about 13 hours there. I fully expect it to happen again this summer.

What books did you guys read??

On that day, I read St. Augustine's Confessions in the morning/afternon, Shakespeare's King John and Macbeth during the evening, and Aristotle's Poetics at night.

The most time I've spent reading continously was however many hours it took to read Goblet of Fire. I set a goal to finish each harry potter book in under a day, but Goblet of Fire is the only one I read in one sitting.

The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan and the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodking got me going for a very long time.

Wheel of Time is about 13 book series, each book abou 800 pages. Sword of Truth Series is about 8 books approx 800 pages.

Now, George R.R. Martin's A song of Ice and Fire series got me as well, but it's only like 3 books (1000 pages each)

Samweis was supposed to read Asong of Ice and Fire. I wonder if he liked it.

6 hours 20 min. in 1982. My 12th grade results were scheduled to be announced the next day. I finished The Scarlatti Inheritance by Ludlum that night.

I read for 1 day straight( 10am night, 9:30 morning), and finished The Order of the Phoenix. Pretty similar reading, but I think it was 20 hours, when reading Goblet of Fire.

We've got some book worms here...

I've read for, probably 1 hour. At most. I can't keep my attention in a book for longer than that.

I'm better at being consistent than sitting through one long session.

That 10hr+ one was an extreme rarity.

I have a pretty short attention span. Nowadays, if I read for 10 minutes straight without breaking, that's an accomplishment.

It's easier with movies, but even then, with 3 hour long ones, it gets tough.

For example, when Sam gave his long speech, I was hoping an orc would come along and tear him into pieces so that the story could move along . And then I found out the film had 50 endings. ](*,)

In 2 words: hell no. The book was just too damn good so when I had to go to the bathroom I brought it with me (for a piss I just waited for to crap).

I think the longest I did was the weekend Order of Phoenix came out. I practically did nothing else that weekend.

I read a whole book in one day... So Im thinking around 9-10 hours of straight up reading. It was literally one of those books I couldnt put down. It was such a great book. I was wiped after reading it, though.

Roughly 10 minutes. I had a little trouble figuring out the joke in Family Circle that day, so it took me a few more minutes than usual. Who the hell is "Not Me"?!?! I still don't get it. :???:

Weird. You would think you would have better sentence structure after reading so much.
