Need help ... any doctors in the house?
Hmm so ok ... ever since I came home from school ... (from pittsburgh to atlanta) I have been kind of sick.
A little background on me ... I have been sick twice (non alchohol indused that is) in the past 8 years and this one is one of those 2. The only other time I have ever been sick, and can ever remember being sick was when I was a junior in HS. That time was alot like this ... but went away after about 2-3 days.
Basically what happens is nothing serious ... but I was once told that noone knows your body better than you ... and you can tell when something is amis ... and thats how I feel now.
It started when I came back, I slowly developed a sore throat and dry cough. It progressivly got worse and worse to where I would cough pretty bad. There would be points (once durring the end of the phantom of the opera in theaters) where I literally could not stop coughing no matter what I did. I would cough up these little yellow balls of flem, and durring about a 3-4 day stretch it got so bad that I would wake up, cough horribly and vomit. The coughing would constantly make me gag/vomit durring those 4 days ... sometimes I would puke ... othertimes all that would come up is the yellow flem.
Those 4 days caused me to see a doctor, who took a look at my throat, asked some questions, said it was probably finals stress, said my throat was red and irratated and swollen, prescribed some prescription cough medicine and a dose of antibiotics. That was that.
The antibiotics helped, coughing, yellow flem, and puking went away. It was better for about a week, never totally got rid of the cough though.
Since then I still continue to cough, and my throat is still freaking irritated. It is not so bad to the point where I can't control it beyond the first cough, and I am not puking because of it, but it is a pain in the ass. Everyonce in a while I will cough like a mad man, and I can always tell my throat is just not as it used to be.
Could this be a sign my tonsils are about done? I don't know what else it could be ... I have always hade one bad ass immune system ... am in great health otherwise ... and in good physical shape ...
opinions, thoughts, comments, diagnoses?

sounds like you just have a cold. That's exactly what my symptoms are right now (except for puking). I've just got a cold.
Rusty's prognosive. Rest, drink some ginger ale and don't eat junk food.

Well I went to a doctor if you would be kind enough to read He didn't do squat, looked at me for 2 seconds, and showed me the door with some antibiotics. This time with less symptoms I highly doubt the result would be any more enlightening.

I say you should go see a throat, nose and ear specialist to see if you should get your tonsils out. I got mine out a couple of years ago and the only reason I got them out was because I got a different surgery at the same time and the doc said he could do that also. But your like 20 and still have em in, you could get them out. But on the whole rusty still thinks you've got a cold.

Go see an internist. If its anytyhing serious, they'll recommend someone better. General Practitioners are the way to go first. No advice here will help you unless what you have is something as minor as a normal cold or something that doesn't require a doctor at all.

And how do you know that I'm not a doctor? I could very well be one!
