Based on a comment that Eagle made - about hating coming on the site and seeing and dealing with fights, I am making this statement. ( Plus, he said I should make a statement ) Note this isn't the statement that he asked me to make but I took some of his comments and adapted them into this.

After Eagle's comments and the weekend events, I have come to this decision.

I have pretty much spent alot of time defending my positions - and even though I was wrong some of the times, BUT so were others.

Even my suggestions about forum improvements were treated unfairly by some.

And with the IGNORE button, anyone who hates my opinions - have a very easy way to get rid of them and never see them.

As I truely disagree with the comments that I am on KJ only to bother people - that is crazy - as anyone can see with my threads/posts in the various forums - Movies, TV, Sports, Awards, Water Cooler. Notice how I never/rarely go into the other sections - ?why? - because I am not interested in those forums. Even Box Office - I have never really cared to make predictions on the openings - I only like to analyze the results.

That is one thing that I like doing the most - hearing someone else's opinion and then learning from it and also disagreeing with the points that you don't agree about

I learned a long time ago - when you speak, you learn nothing but when you listen and take in others comments, there is a chance that you could learn something.

That is one of the reasons that I pass through here - because there are some good posters and some ideas/comments that are worth listening to and discussing.

I am going to give up defending myself from that group who wants to bash me ( see the Moderator comments thread in the site. I am never going to change those people.) Which at least won't let the agrument continue - the worst that will happen, is that they will take there shot and it won't be returned.

And especially important to me is that there have been a number of surprising people who have responed/quoted me this weekend. Which I take, that they are cool with me if I post good comments or they think I have been treated unfairly - I gladly accept that unspoken compromise.

Hopefully those who are visiting my posts and threads, will see that what I said above is true and we can go on and discuss the important things in life - Movies and the world around us.

Goldie....this thread is dumb man; you could have done this in a way that was not annoying and terribly hard to read [you divde your posts up too much and you cant tell whats part of your signature or not any more]

To be honest; I have strongly negative feelings towards you purely for conduct on other websites; not here. I think others do too but i mean; ive only had one semi-argument with you on KJ before and i dont really see much wrong with what else youve done here.

Although what youve done offsite is a totally different matter; thats not for here.
I think an idea is for you to stop being so damn provocative towards the people who your always arguing with [and very much vice versa]; because both sides are very opinonated and very strong in their feelings towards each other - the solution just seems to be BOTH ignoring EACH OTHER no?

Goldie, what I don't think you ever really understood, is that most of the dislike of your posts, comes not from your opinions but instead from you making poll after poll, and thread after thread.

This here is in essence another poll, and it will only fan the flames you are trying to put out.

If you simply acted like a regular poster, and mostly just commented on existing threads and only every now and then made your own thread, you'd probably get along fine with most people here.

The key there is most people.

It always has been a small but vocal crowd againist Goldie.

Will discuss the threads at a different time - I don't think this is currently true - but the MODS can always close if they feel as you do.

There's always been a small but vocal crowd but a big unvocal group who rolls their eyes at your constant threads. They don't hate you as a person, but just wish you would cool it with the spamming. Look at Ripper, very popular and hardly ever makes threads.

First off, the thrid person thing doesn't really bother me, but considering it's Ahmed Johnson's gig and you just started it recently, it sounds like a gimmick, and it makes you look pretentious. But whatever, it doesn't change the message of your posts.


Yes, some were wrong some of the time. However, when they were wrong they seemed to be able to let it go, they didn't spread it to other sections and other topics. For example: you meaninglessly attacked Dr. Lecter in quite a few Oscar sections that had nothing to do with your spat with him.

In my opinion, you will enter a topic and do anything to squelch your enemies, not by posting intelligent discourse or a response, but by insulting... I think you have lost a lot of respect from people here because of that. Everything that comes after it... from people not participating in your topics to being treated "unfairly" comes from that.


I think the ignore button is a horrible, horrible feature, and I'm sad it was implemented.


But it's important (and this is an ongoing lesson for me too) to admit that the way you have conducted yourself, isn't necessarily the way that people are going to percieve you. And the impression I have of you is of someone who endlessly has to drive the conversation in a topic... that's why you post so many topics and try to discourage anybody you don't like from having a say.


I think there are very few people on WorldofKJ who think that you were really open to discussing issues about any topic. You come across as very set in your ways.


Well, you won't have to defend yourself if you take a quick step back and look at your comments from a different perspective. I think there is another poster in this similar position at the moment... someone who creates discussion, it doesn't go his way, and he gets upset for really no reason. You just got to step back and reevaluate from time to time.


I think you have potential, but IMO you need to just reevaluate.

There is a lot of paranoia in almost everything you post. People aren't out to "get you", even the people you percieve to be your enemies. You set yourself up for critisism however.

Again... my opinion, but I think it would align with quite a few posters here...

And I agree with a lot of what addr0ck said. I don't think most people would have such issues with you if it weren't for your endless topcis and polls. That's the one thing back on BOM that made you annoying in my eyes. This is one of the primary reasons why people don't like you... It's completely self-centered. This is turning into a forum to express how victimized you are. It's even in your sig. Nobody would really be pulling you apart today if you didn't create two topics about yourself and make you and your actions a topic of debate.

I will gladly accept that I "misunderstand" if other World of KJ people would come in here and tell me that I am mis-reading your posts. I tend to ignore people that bug me, and from time to time I will get in a tuffle with them. Unless they stick up like a sore thumb. I'm not out to create enemies though, and my goal is to have conversations with people like Algren, Michael, BKB... people I really disagree with, but am at least attempting to see their points of view (on occasion!).

I have been quite critical of Mav in the past for the way he handles some issues, and I have fought with him and especially with Dr. Lecter viciously at many times. There is a running joke here that Dr. Lecter and I can't agree on anything. Anybody here, including Mav and Dr. Lecter, can tell you that. I also think that Rod and Dr. Lecter's comments on your voting topic weren't probably the best way to add to the conversation.

Then again, all three of those posters, at other times (most of the time actually), contribute in intelligent and meaningful conversation that I value a great deal. I don't think I've ever been involved in a meaningful and valuable conversation with you. I don't mean that as a put down but I personally don't think I'm ever going to be capable of having one of those conversations with you either.

I know you have some problems with Dr. Lecter and what the rift between the two of you is, I have no idea.

You are always trying to bring attention to yourself. That is a problem. But that is not the biggest issue here.

The biggest problem you have is that you want faceless people's approval. If that is your attitude in life, you will make a nice doormat.

What do you care? It is not like anybody who doesn't like you pays your rent.

If people on some boards don't like you, go elsewhere. There are million other places you could go.
