Post Your favorite author/novel
So I still have faith in people here that they read books, even those that they are not assigned to read in school. ;)

Who is your favorite author and what novel is your all-time favorite?

My favorite author is Michael Crichton, very entertaining novels. They sure are no masterpieces, but so entertaining. My all-time favorite movie, Jurassic Park, is based on a Michael Crichton novels. Usually, however, the movies based on his novels are worse than the novels, even Jurassic Park.

My favorite novel is Sphere, written by Michael Crichton...so much better than the movie.

Is Michael Crichton the author that writes a new book like every few months or so it seems, or am I getting him confused with someone else? :?

Favourite Author: Robert Jordan. His fantasy series, the Wheel of Time, is so good (not the latest books) but on the whole amazing. Great Feminist books as well. Very very complex writer.

Favourite Book: Magics Price by Mercedes Lackey. I thought i would hate it b/c of the content, but it was really good, very well written, and altered my preceptions of certain things.

I haven't read a Stephen King book in awhile, but I still have great memories of reading his books.

I pretty much stick to non-fiction lately. I liked all of Al Franken's books that I read (Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot, and Lies and the Lying Liars...). Those were amusing.

One of the few fiction books I read recently was Dan Brown's Davinci Code, which was very good. But, I haven't read any of his other stuff, so I don't know how good he is on the whole.

Author:

Artsy Fartsy answer - Dostoevsky
Guilty pleasure answer - Lemony Snicket

Novel:

Either The Idiot (by the aforementioned Dostoevsky) or Carter Beats the Devil.

EDIT: Completely forgot about 100 Years of Solitude. Which certainly gives both The Idiot and Carter Beats the Devil a run for their money in terms of supoibness.
