Post WOKJ Motion Picture Awards Prediction Contest
Sorry Arthur, I'm stealing from your Oscar game format. Hope you don't mind.

WOKJ Motion Picture Awards Prediction Game - The Winners

GUIDELINES:

We'll use the points system that Levy has invented last year for such a game. You don't simply predict the winner in each category, you predict the winner in the LIKELIHOOD to win. I give you an example:

Let's say I ask you to predict Best Picture, then you have to rank them in the likeliness of movies to win, like this for instance:

1. Kill Bill Vol. 2
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
3. Milion Dollar Baby
4. The Aviator
5. Collateral

For each ranking there are points. Let's say, you put Million Dollar Baby at the third spot, so you'll get the amount of points that the third spot gives if it actually wins.

That's pretty much all you need to know. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

Um, can I still try this out even though I've seen 12 (which is a hefty sum) of the ballots?

Actually, on second thought, I'll abstain. I'll just laugh at everyone else's predictions.

I encourage you to try. :) 12 out of 87 isn't that big of amount, and you may misguide people with your predictions.

How many presenters will be here to present their categories on March 6th? 15

How long will the award show run? See note below, but for now: 4 hr 15 min

----

Now, about the last tiebreaker, how exactly will it be judged? What exactly marks the beginning, and what marks the end? Is it the timestamp on the anouncement on the first award, to that of the final? Or will it be the first post in the thread until some 'final' post that you will determine? Just curious.

I'd say it's between when Mav starts his opening monologue and when Dr. Lecter announces the Best Picture winner. The start time could be a little harder to determine, although I do think it'll be clear. Otherwise, at least we can choose the post when Mav announced what the first category is and introduces the presenter.

87 votes were turned in, so we should have no problem breaking the record this coming Sunday!

I can't play either, as it would be a little unfair since I saw all of the nomination votes, and would have a better idea than most about what movies were the popular nominations.

With that said, the rest of you guys are eligible, so put it out there! Hope to see you all here on Sunday night! :2up:

Looks like this is clearly a battle (prediction-wise) between Kill Bill and Eternal Sunshine for the best film of the year. I went with Eternal because Kill Bill was still a martial arts film that maybe alot of people in this forum didn;t see. But this forum seems like the kind of place where everyone would have seen Eternal and liked it too. Then again, alot of people have seen Kill Bill. :-k

I agree, it is between Eternal and Kill Bill, HOWEVER, considering Kill Bill could easily beat out Eternal Sunshine in the amount of nods, I think it has a slight advantage.

Oh and I see The Aviator pulling a GONY here. The only real chance it has at winning, IMO, is Best Sup. Actress.
