 The high class thread
To balance out the inane and banal verbiage that often permeate KJ's watercooler, I am creating a thread where intellectuals, like myself, can feel free to express their high minded innocuous thoughts without fear of persecution.
I'm hoping others will join me, but please heed the strict guidelines:
- All posts must contain at least one big word. - Wearing pants and a shirt are required for reading or posting. - Spelling and punctuation are extremely important. All errors will be pointed out and ridiculed. - Under no circumstances shall emoticons be used or referenced. - Only YouTube videos that are intellectually stimulating will be allowed. Those that contain bodily functions or animals will most likely be considered unacceptable. - Talking about celebrities is not allowed, unless it is directly related to an intellectual discussion. For example, if you are proving a math theorem using Britney Spears's mammary glands, then that is an acceptable topic.
So, I invite you to put on your best clothing, grab a fine bottle of wine, and join me in a wide array of intellectual discussions that are certain to follow.
POSTERS TO BE MOCKED FOR NOT FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES #1. Michael (3 violations) - Michael produced a sentence so riddled with errors, that he earns one violation for every word. #2. Getluv (2 violations) - Getluv demonstrated a failure to capitalize his user name (proper names must be capitalized), and he openly attempted to mock the most classiest of our members. #3. Junio (2 violations) - Junio also appears to openly mock proper capitalization. However, a worse violation was committed when he or she emptied his or her bowels on the thread by making a post that does not contain any big words or classy thoughts. #4. Baba (1 violation) - Baba openly mocked proper upper case usage with one of his posts. #5. Goktor Who (1 violation) - Goktor Who incorrectly corrected a post. However, since the classy thread does enjoy the use of the word "whom", even when inappropriate, we would encourage less ridicule to be thrown his way. #6. Gulli (1 violation) - A frightening overuse of periods. #7. DP07 (1 violation) - Explicit use of a smilie.

Since I am utilizing a computer to contemplate this topic, I realize this might be slightly pious, but I often wonder if technology is making us a more lazy society.

Yes, some very intellectual discussion is required for the person who is in the upper echelon of his 30s and still plays video games.
Who are we ridiculing again?

Beware good Tony my friend for I do not feel that this man's intentions are in the right place. While he may entice you with promises of heard warming discussions alongside tea and crumpets, I do believe that you will exit that 'drawing room' less richer and whole.

Like the "collapse" of the Soviet Union it is designed to calm while they reap profits in the background. Let us discuss this in my wood shed.................alone. Let us also bring this Goktor fellow as he is clearly a man of language and can iron out linguistic misunderstandings........................so yes shed 10 minutes come unarmed.

I concur with you esteemed gentlemen that it is time to bring order to a forum full of juvenility!
Yes, juvenility is a word and quite possibly one of my favorite nouns in my vocabulary arsenal.

 Re: The high class thread
Pffft, if this were a real high class club you would see it as an everyday thing and would never call it such. Spelling and one big word? You think that's special unique being other than the usual additional? That's good enough.

In this particular usage, "who" is the correct usage of the word, as "whom" is only proper when referring to a direct object (i.e.: "To whom shall I ship this excellent vintage?")

 Re: The high class thread
I am indubitably excited to see all the classy www.worldofkj.com inhabitants that have gathered to pontificate! Unfortunately, as has been noted above, a very small fraction of the participants have made egregious errors in their posts and must be mocked. I will hence update the original post in this classy thread to reflect those errors.

 Re: The high class thread
The foremost post in this thread has been updated with important information. As high class individuals, our most important function is to mock others. I have also placed a copy of this update below, for maximum ridicule.
Before you become slightly discouraged to see that 12 violations have occurred so early, please remember there has been several demonstrative examples of intellectualismas as well. Even some of the below violators have produced impressive examples of class. We classy individuals enjoy patting ourselves on the back, and will do so shortly via an award ceremony for individual acts of braininess.
#3. Baba (2 violations) - Baba openly mocks proper upper and lower case usage with both his user name and posts. #4. Junio (2 violations) - Junio also appears to openly mock proper capitalization. However, a worse violation was committed when he or she emptied his or her bowels on the thread by making a post that does not contain any big words or classy thoughts.
