I was walking with my friend to the mall the other day. It was a bit cold, but I didn't really care. There's this collectables store that is close to us, and we like to go in and browse sometimes. They have these little packs of baseball cards for like $3 with three or four cards in them. Well, we were about to go in, but my friend Stephen said he forgot to do something, and he had to run back home for a bit. So I stayed in the shop and browsed a bit.

Now, the thing you need to know about Stephen is that he always buys the top package of those $3 packs of baseball cards. AND his favorite baseball player is Alex Rodriguez.

So I end up buying the pack of baseball cards. You know, the top pack, usually 'reserved for him' whenever he comes in. Inside is an ARod card. "Ok, that's cool" With a piece of authentic gameworn jersey. Only one of ten in the entire world.

So the guy takes my picture and puts it on the wall, and he says that right now, the card could EASILY go for $125 on eBay. Easy. My friend came back and shat his pants.

I got a rare card of his favorite player in 'his' deck. And now my picture is mounted on the wall with a geeky smile, holding up the card with my name written on it.

What kind of odds are that?

It's quite an amusing and hilarious thought to picture your friend walking in, gasping, and shitting his pants.

And honestly, this happened to my friend Andrew and Stephen, but it sounds much better in the first person.

And knowing Stephen, he probably really shat his pants.

Hey I really don't want to burst your bubble but there's no way in hell you'll get $125 for the A-Rod jersey card. Look up his jersey cards right now on ebay and they're all selling for around $1-$5 (yes even the numbered ones). I would say go get $125 bucks from that sucker in the shop. If it doesn't have an auto on it most people won't care much for it.

Like I said, it ain't my card. I don't really care. I'm not into the whole thing anyway.
