 Best Instant Messenger
I am pretty certain most of you use some kind of an instant messenger, whether it's ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, MSN or AIM. Which one do you prefer?
The only one I haven't used yet is the YIM (Yahoo Instant Messenger). As for the others, I think I prefer MSN. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages. ICQ is probably the worst because there are probelms with it all the time and you get added by random people who advertise for some stuff. MSN is good all-around especially because of the mic and webcam options, but the probelm is that you can type up long texts at MSN at once. AIM is better in this regard, but overall, I prefer MSN's designs and the options that MSN offers. What about you?

The "free" version isn't really free - it's ad-supported/

I hated Trillian, personally, I like GAIM alot better. GAIM is free and it allows you to log into AIM, MSN, YAHOO, IRC, etc.

I got AIM, MSN and YIM, and I just use them as three separate programs. MSN is probably my favorite cause I'm most familiar with it.

Maybe I should try it out. I had Trillian for a couple of days, but then uninstalled it because it was very uncomfortable and not very practical.

never liked Trillian.
If i'm not mistaken, isn't ICQ still the popular program? I know it was upto 3 years ago or something. I won't be surprised if msn took over. AOL, barely anyone i know outside of the States uses it ...

MSN
- Everyone I know here (where I live) uses MSN. It must be a Canadian thing, because I don't anyone who uses AIM.
- MSN is the most practical IM service, in my opinion. Good design, awesome options, and easy to just chat.
- I find it has the least problems. I had ICQ eons ago, and it was horrible, and I had downloaded AIM, but a combination of me not liking it and nobody using it caused me to uninstall it.
PEACE, Mike

Interesting thing...
In Germany ICQ is most popular by far, in Canada MSN and in USA apparently AIM, hehe.

True, no one over here uses AIM and almost everyone uses ICQ.

it all depends on location. you will go where your friends are. like where i am no one uses MSN, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger. any of that.
we all know AIM and thats about it. we all live on AIM 24/7. live breathe and eat AIM.
if you are someplace where AIM isnt used, then you wont use AIM even if its the best program out there [not saying it is]
i use AIM even if MSN is better just for convience.

AIM is the primitive one with those awful smilies, righ?
If so, then no, definitely not that one. I used it a few times, got sick of it.
I have practically abandoned Istant Messaging. The only means of communication/chat I engage in is here at KJ's, that's it.
