And by the way, there are plenty of "normal" threads on the forums. Don't act like there is some kind of intellectual shortage. One thread dedicated to thread hijacking and suddenly the forums are spiralling downwards? Give me a break.

Seriously, guys, he's only complaining because he cares. Forums are so much better when great subjects can be talked about by all of the members. Those types of threads should be what is dominating the forums, not the threads that have minimal interest, and the content is mindless small talk. Those have their place, but they shouldn't be so prominent. It will make this place look less interesting to potential members.

Would you like to see this year be dominated by mindless action movies with limited appeal, and no story to tell, or would you rather see more effort put into things, and for great stories to be told, and interesting subject matter, etc..

It's the same mindset. Don't abuse and overdo the meaningless stuff at the expense of the interesting stuff, or the forums will suffer for it.

They are not "so prominent." There are far more meaningful discussions than BS discussions on the forum. There isn't some sudden trend, it's one thread. ONE.

Please guys. You're ruining it for the rest of us. I'll admit that I haven't always been the most mature poster, but it really would be lovely if we had a few more thought provoking threads - something with a little substance, maybe? Goofing off gets old....

The goofing off is only going on in ONE thread. Why is everyone acting like the forums are crashing down into a void of meaninglessness? God, people are dramatic. I guess box office predicting does that, though.

The goofing off isn't in one thread. You guys hijack everything. Besides that, while you might not consider "People You Want To Kill" or "Celebrity Drawings" goofing off, I find it pretty retarded (Much like the poster of those threads)

I wasn't even commenting on your thread. I was commenting in general. Small talk threads have a habit of being fruitful and multiplying. It's not a bad thing to police them, and keep them to a minimum. That's not a knock on you, your thread, or anybody, it's a knock on the effects that those threads can have. It's more than one, too, but where it's one of yours, it's one of mine, one of Levy's, one of zach's, and it just breeds quickly. Just keep that in mind. :wink:

Hijack everything? There hasn't been a sudden surge in hijacking, now there's just a thread devoted to it. If it hasn't been surging, what's with the complaints? Is it because it seems like it's surging because of the thread?

Well, if I see 5 BS threads like mine up tomorrow, I'll agree with you, but at the moment, it sounds kind of exaggerrated.

Am I considered a hijacker? I hope not. I usually try and keep it on-topic, but sometimes I get a little off, like everyone else. And, I don't recall any stupid threads I've created. Mostly good threads. I'll try to conjur up some thought-provokers in the future. You'll see... you'll ALL see!

after 3 months of all serious political and world affair and gay and lesbian talks, i'm glad the past week has been very lighthearted.

I dont think this forum is dwindiling...levy there are alot of good threads, have you not notices the COUNTLESS political threads since this place opend?
