If a little kid asked you what the fashion, hairstyle and music was like in the 2000s, what will you say? I honestly don't have a clue what I'm going to say, I don't notice any particular style.

I've thought about this too, not really sure.

I could see the "holey" jeans being a big representation of the 00's, can't think of much else.

In all honesty, I don't even pay attention/care now. My wardrobe is pretty simple and hair is hair. I would be able to talk about the popularity of rap and alternative music, but not in this great nostalgaic light with which my parents talk of their generation's offerings. (But then again, my mother was a teenager when The Beatles were huge, so it's not even close to a fair comparison. ;) )

I think it's harder because due to the web, all major fashion houses found footings in the 21st century.

But, for teenagers? It's a restrained version of '80s and '90s style. Prep and Grunge.

As far as items go? The jean, the hoodie, the polo. Long hair was in during '02-'05, too.

Emo might be a movement we all see, but it is more like punk, and hasn't found a place in - say - Giorgio Armani's runway. The polo, the hoodie, the jean, and long hair? YES.

Even if you analyze your high school, I'm sure you can divide people into two different styles. The clean-cut and the not-so-clean-cut.

This is hard. The only thing of the 2000's so far that I feel okay with describing is the music. Almost every "catchy" rap song of was a number 1 smash hit for weeks and weeks, yet the sales for that artist couldn't be much more awful.

I don't think there is a single fashion or hairstyle out there.

In 20/40 years time. People will look back on us and say...

Why the hell was 90% of the population an idiot or a slut?

In 20 or 40 years it'll be the same as today.

Due to extreme globalization every culture is starting to mix...resulting in thousands of trends and styles. There is no real representative style of the 2000s, except maybe hip hop or rap in music.

Well, there's the goth, emo, skid, "I'm less conformist than you!!!" looks, but they've been around forever.
