Re: 2007 WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winnner Voting!
I think that's too early a deadline, but I guess I can understand why you guys want to have it before the Oscars. I wanted to try and see as much as I could before the deadline, and since I have the week of the 18th off, it would've worked better for me to have the ceremony later.
But it's your show, have the ceremony when you please. Don't change it on my account.

It captured the essence of what big, escapist film-making is all about. I think we lose our desire to escape in cinema these days when our films become so grounded in reality and theres such emphasis on making everything feel as realistic as possible. Stardust flaunted that obsession with realism and went off into blockbuster territory of yore. It felt like Jurassic Park for me in terms of capturing that cinematic essence. It certainly stands higher in my all time list than any of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Re: 2007 WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winnner Voting!
Oh and by the way, I'm going to throw my support behind
Ratatouille for BP. Jennifer Garner for Best Supporting Actress. I know she's polarizing people already, but she's by far the most love/hate in the category. She needs the loves support in full force to win this bitch. Awards have snubbed her even though rumour has it she just missed many major ceremonies nominee list, so let's show those big award shows that performance matters more than prestiege.
I'm also tentatively saying Amy Adams for Best Actress. Great category this year and there are performances there with way more depth, but I think Adams' deep charm and involvement in her character as well as it being a real breakout year for her makes her more deserving than the other actresses, even the lovely Ellen page, who is getting quite enough recognition as is.

Re: 2007 WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winnner Voting!
Yeah I'd vote Ratatouille too. Best Pic of the year. Politically I would vote No Country which I also loved as it has a better chance of winning and anything so Atonement doesnt win. Would love Zodiac to win but it doesnt have much of a chance. So if enough people vote the Rat - then i would too. Stardust is criminally overlooked. What an amazing film. I dont think ive EVER been so surprised by a film. Foreign is a tough category. If it wasnt for Lives of Others I would have voted for Paris J'eteme too.
