We try to close most threads that are either duplicates or just baits for personal attacks or just openly stupid to begin with, with the thread creator knowing the thread is pointless in the first place

Other than that, we'll keep the threads open.

I create this thread in response to the pinkpanther's thread. A lot of personal attacks, bashing and what not and even pointing out to the complete pointlessness of the thread.

Please remember that pink started it based upon what he feels. Hence, the thread serves a purpose. If you think his opinions have little merit, than the point of the thread is to state why and educate another one of us. What i love about our forum more than anything else is that we all have our positves and negatives and at the end of the day, we all have something to learn from each other, whether its in the water cooler or another section. So yes ... you may think what someone is saying is completely ridiculus but use that opportunity to state your point of view and enlighten the thread creator as well as others. or, support a claim and carry on the discussion. Yes, i've been guilty for blasting someone as well for a thread i considered pointless so lets hope we can all try a little bit harder

If people handled themselves better and more maturely, than I would have left that thread alone. Pinkpanther and Coasterman were both out of line with their attacks. Sorry for not consulting you bABA, but I thought that was the right thing to do. Feel free to open it back up.

you were right to close it when you did. It did get out of hand. This wasn't something for the mods that i was putting up but for everyone on the site for future reference. Like i said, we're all here from different backgrounds with different strengths .. lets put it to good use and if we see a thread where you think someone has no idea what they're talking about, then we use our abilities to educate everyone.

If you know the person is just being stupid .... and we all know who they are, its all good .... but it we know most people here and we all know when theyre being serious or not ... even if they are being completely stupid.

I guess we should all be subjective ... no rule or guideline or anything ... just something we should all tryt o do ...

A crap thread like that does not deserve a serious reply. It was mean-spirited and ugly, and it is to our credit that we did not give that idiot the pleasure of seeing us take it for anything more than it is: A royal POS.

I wouldn't recommend opening it. Opening it would just bring back the hate discussion and the insults.

Your not exactly the best thread creater out there either box, so dont hate on others for trying to start up a discussion. Yes I disagree with pink's stance, but that dosent mean its not an interesting thread in which to post in.

There was some other thread where this guy had a list of people which basically amounted to bashing a lot of the KJ members. That was closed too. I thought you meant that one, not Pinkpanther's.

Ya, of course. But still, do whatever the hell you want :mrgreen: , ie, open it, but honestly, I dont get the discussion in it, mostly because the main issue ('selfish' Americans) was being discussed in the tsunami thread (the one with the 288 posts).

Theres still seems to be some bashing on some posters going on. I mean particularly Goldie and its not from Zingaling or Dr Lector since they seem to have both handled the situation well enough but mainly from other individuals.

Yeah, Goldie seems to get the rough end of the stick a lot of times. Whatever problems people have had with him in the past, there's nothing offensive about most, if not all, of his threads at the moment, but for some reason the poor guy's being constantly victimised.

I wouldn't know why. My opinion on that individual has always stayed the same and while I might offer him a truce, my disdain and hatred will remain nonetheless. You of all should know better why.
