 Should Canadians celebrate Christmas?
If you are a real Canadian, shouldn't you not celebrate Christmas?
After all, Christmas has been very commercialized, and that means Americanized. Each time you celebrate Christmas, you become a step closer to being an American.
Canada is a relatively secular society compared to America. So at the very least Christmas celebrations should be muted. How about one foot tall plastic tree in front of the city hall in Montreal? Isn't that more than enough for a proudly secular society?
Santa is fat, and we all know Americans are fat. Chances are Santa is either an American or someone who has fallen prey to the American lifestyle. This should not be encouraged!
A real Canadian would be for nationalizing Christmas and having the civilized appropriate government agency distribute gifts according to need, with waiting lists if need be for each bicycle and Playstation 2.
We kid the Canadians because we love them!

Archie, your idea is total crap. What a crap post. Crap crap crap. I can't believe what crap is involved in your post. If you took all the crap out of your post, your post would be non-existent. Your idea is ridiculous, and I'm always right. Always. Not you. Me.
Thanks for the laugh, though. I'm glad my post can be spoofed not once, but twice! I'm flattered, really!

Perhaps it is significant that The Grinch was played by a (former) Canuck?
And now that we're all turning into cold-hearted Republicans, it is inevitable that we must all sing from the same hymnal:
“If I could work my will,†said Scrooge indignantly, “every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. He should!†(Stave One)

Canadians can celebrate anything we freaking want.
I think it's not Christmas that's being commercialized nowadays, it's the "holidays."
