Seriously. There is just way too much to do just to move 20 minutes away.

Connect utilities
Get phone service (won't get mine for nearly 2 weeks)
Internet (also 2 week wait nearly)
Changing all my addresses
Mail forwarding

Then there is the actual move which luckily for me is just a few boxes.

Mattress will be delivered in a week or so, until then I'll be sleeping on the floor. I'll no other furniture either.

Seriously.

Ugh.

I've been on the phone with the insurance company for the past hour almost off and on just trying to get renter's insurance. I'm getting $23,000 worth of coverage but I have maybe $5,000 worth of possessions for now.

Just wait until you actually have things to move, then you'll really complain.

I'm signing a 1-year lease. Then after that is up I'm moving to a townhouse and going to stay put until I die I think.

Woohoo. I'm moved in. Sorta. Still got loads of shit in my car and at my old place. But I'm locked in to this place for a year now. Or rather 11 months and 20 days.

Unfortunately, my psychic tendencies tell me you will have an infestation problem.

I moved..... 14 times as a child.

I'm very strong now, of course. Those heavy boxes. And I can tell you all about Mom's Attic.

Today's Update:

I got my table put together, $99 from Ikea for a table and four chairs.

Right now I'm trying to clear the air. The management cleaned the apartment but it has a pungent odor, not bad but not good either. I bought several scented candles which I have been burning quite often and which seem to be working so far.

I have no couch. No TV. No bookcases. Bed will be delivered next week sometime, until then I'm on the floor.
