"Another witness said the police had overreacted. "For nothing  he didn't do anything  they cuffed him and took him like an animal," said Jacob Jacobvitz, 21.
The police did not comment on the accusations of use of excessive force.
As word of the arrests spread, hundreds of residents from the tight-knit Hasidic Jewish community protested in the streets...

In 1999, several hundred angry residents poured onto the streets to protest the fatal police shooting of a mentally disturbed Orthodox Jewish man, Gidone Busch. Mr. Busch was fired upon at least 12 times when he threatened neighbors with a hammer. Residents said the police had used excessive force."

I heard the riots stopped as soon as the police officers threw 2 bags of quarters on the floor. The whole mob got too distracted by it and completely forgot what they are protesting by picking up the quarters on the floor...

But yes bABA, wrong language.
I was just shocked because police have to be pretty consistently oppressive to get the community to resort to setting a police car on fire and lighting trashcans. This isn't a rally or some chants or petition. I really never expected to hear this.

My problem is, while I know there must have been some really bad shit going on, the chassids make the community look bad. This may be some of the self hating Jew I've been genetically conditioned to possess, but so many times certain sects of Jews make it seem like they're above the law. I may just be thinking of a specific case that has nothing to do with it, but it just pisses me off.
