 Re: President Trump
Liberals called Romney a woman hating Hitler back then though. John McCain was also a Hitler as was George W Bush. The real Hitler didn't even make the top 5.
So maybe it shouldn't be that surprising that people didn't wanna listen this time.

So maybe it shouldn't be that surprising that people didn't wanna listen this time. Not sure any of that is true, unless you are referring to one liberal somewhere that no one has ever heard of before this grandstanding comment. In the case of Bush, maybe Ted Rall and some other very special snowflake temper tantrum pulling leftist con-artists did. There was probably too much comparison to the nazis and the actions of the Bush administration. The problem for liberals is when discussing an historical politician, the general public does not have a deep understanding or even an awareness beyond Hitler, Stalin, and maybe Mussolini, Mao. If Trump or another similarly authoritarian politician appealing to fascist tendencies was actually more similar to Franco, Peron, Pinochet, Tito, Amin, or Mugabe, the comparison is pointless if they have no idea who the person is. I was talking to a friend of a friend, that did not want to vote. He thought both were fine candidates. He thought Trump was a great businessman, always hired the best people, etc. I thought Trump had some similar tendencies to Hitler. The luck of his rise to power, the numerous factions and leaders that thought they could control him, the ability to bend politicians to his will after being given more power, etc. The guy Identified himself as a liberal, but only listens to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage. He does not like to read. He kept getting offended when I made any comparison to Hitler. So I mentioned the above figures one by one and asked him if he knew anything about them. His eyes glazed over and he said, "no." Best case he is our Berlusconi with some Rob Ford WTF moments.

Liberal news love to edit their shit to make Trump and others look foolish. Where did Trump travel the world helping Children? Where did I say everything she said was correct? How did you read that into what I wrote? The media likes to show the unusual. Not super familiar with this MSNBC reporter, although my limited experience is he seems like a technology twerp. He seems much more comfortable discussing technology than interacting with everyday people. However, another MSNBC reporter Jacob Rascon interviewed numerous Stein, Johnson, and McMullin supporters, but rarely ever seemed to come across any Clinton ones. Hallie Jackson had this amazing talent as well. Weird when combined they got about 10% of the votes Clinton got. The media no longer informs, they just play up the conflict or the bizarre. It is not liberal it is a corporate money making machine designed to get eyeballs and clicks nothing else really. Done with KJ and probably the Internet for the weekend. Tired of so many who take pleasure in others pain.

 Re: President Trump
Regarding Trump: He should obviously be given the chance to lead the country, he won, and shouldn't be met with hostility, dissatisfaction, until that time. I dislike the man, and find it unfortunate that such a man will represent the image of the President of the U.S., but you've got to remain hopeful. Trump isn't a mature person - perhaps he'll actually grow as a person in the position. And regarding Clinton: A lot of people view Hillary as an evil, corrupt person - the very image of what's "wrong" with America. And while she's as ambitious as they come, often to a fault, with many flaws, and has made her fair share of mistakes - so much about her has been so misrepresented that's it's a bit disheartening and quite demoralizing, too. She's tough, but she just has to feel so exhausted from fighting the ill-disposed feelings toward her after all this time, from her personal life to her political career - everything has been thrown her way for decades. Just about any other person would have folded under the pressure. I hope that in her quest to become the first female President of the U.S., that she finds some satisfaction, needed solace, knowing that more Americans actually chose her as their next President - that's gotta be a good feeling despite everything. I really like the image below that was taken after the election: She's not one to abandon politics and sit on the sidelines for long, but she's more than earned a break and I hope she enjoys it.

But otherwise a great post and it would indeed only be fair that at this point he should be given a chance at least. Equally as alarming as Trump being elected, is that the Senate and the House have the Republican majority and in that case, Republicans have proven to not have our best interest at heart so it makes sense to look skeptical at the near future overall.

 Re: President Trump
The small states would get screwed without the electoral college. Why bother even having States then?
A more staggered EC would be fairer, where the points are divided by % rather than a winner take all. But the system has worked for hundreds of years and we already fought a stupid war over a contested election (Lincoln).

 Re: President Trump
The percentage of population to the amount of electoral votes isn't the same across the board. If they want it to be even somewhat fair, that needs to change.

 Re: President Trump
Republicans have won the popular vote a PATHETIC 1 time in the last 7 elections, and the 1 time was very close.
I will be VERY surprised if Democrats do not make the electoral college a serious issue sooner than rather than later. It has fucked them - an the country - 2x in the past 16 years.

 Re: President Trump
Marion Le Pen, the granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of the extreme right-wing French National Front party, was invited to work together together with the Trump team. The 26-year-old Le Pen, niece of Marine Le Pen, the current leader of the National Front, is a member of the French parliament. An invitation like this is not going to do much to soothe the nerves of people hoping that Trump turns into a normal Republican politician once he reaches the Oval Office.

 Re: President Trump
I doubt the Democrats are too eager to change the electoral college either. In places like California where they have an assured 55 votes, that would mean according to this year results an estimated 18-36 split in delegates.
I guess both parties have done the math and prefer to maintain it the way it is, although unfair.
