I know. Your wife is in arts education, no? Yeah, we're in the same situation. Art History is art history, what can you do without tons of big, expensive, glossy books? Plus, the pictures are pretty. I'd think as a big fan of visual mediums, you'd relate to that. Whoever develops a videogame using the landscapes of Henri Rousseau, and markets it as teaching your kids to appreciate art, is going to strike gold.

She does teach art, so I've been forced to go to every art gallery from Paris to New York. The only thing I like is the pop art stuff when it gets really weird. Like when somebody nails a turd to the wall and puts a placard next to it and proclaims it as art.

But, the books... I don't understand those. They're always the size of a small car. Plus they cost about 1-2 Xbox 360 games a piece, and you can find all the pictures on the internets for free. So, they seem to have no purpose.

I remember taking an Arts History course. The textbook was the size of the original Xbox, weighed just as much, and cost 200$.

My dumb bad purchase car.

It's only worth about 4.5-6k at the most but at least it's paid for.

Tony, you're a Dadaist!

Pretty much right. Expensive and heavy. Well, npw at least I know the size of an XBox is the size of a Janson or Stokstad! You know, ya learn something new every day.

Matresses suck. I originally had a queen bed and it was too big for my teenie room, so I downgraded a size to a full. I found an awesome, cheap bed frame out of wood with huge roll-out underbed storage. The new matress I had to get, though, cost about 250% more than the bed did. It sucked, I almost broke down and purchased a queen frame just to avoid having to buy a full sized mattress!

And as a total random detour, but I don't want to start a whole thread for it: I think you're lying Tony. I'm pretty sure you read books, because you write too well and your vocab is too extensive for you not to. Plus you actually have proper grammar, which is just weird. Don't worry, if you admit the truth, I promise you it won't be another Rhianna moment.

Dadaist? Is that like Surrealism? Because I do like that. I don't know which form of art it is, but I also like the dude that makes things like a 90 foot tall spoon and sticks it in the ground. It's a 90 foot tall freakin' spoon!!!! I could eat a ton of cereal with that puppy.

This is exciting... I'm having a high brow discussion on art!

As for reading books, about once every other year I will read a non-fiction book. Usually a funny political one - like I've read 2 of Al Franken's books and 2 of Michael Moore's. But it's only when I'm stuck on an airplane or at home with no electricity.

The weirdest thing is that I still buy books, as if I'm going to read them. I just bought the God Delusion and Freakonomics within the last couple weeks, but I don't think I really intend to read them (they're still sitting untouched). Of course, I like to to be prepared for a power outage... so maybe I'll read a few pages of one of them someday?

Tony is so Duchamp. I totally see you doodling things to a Mona Lisa!

I always thought about trying my hand at abstract expressionism. In particular, I've always had an affinity for Mark Rothko. I respect him for making quite a nice living out of painting different shaped rectangles against a different coloured background.

The only problem is, I can never decide which one's my favourite piece. This:

I actually bought both of those at the same time, too. Weird. Anyway, I bought them off iTunes as audio books. They were both really great to stick on my iPod and listen to while driving, shopping, etc. Anything not in the house.
