i'm wondering.
some would say in medicare .. but really ... has anyone been to quebec hospitals or clinics!?!? Deplorable! And hell, I still pay for my own medical insurance from work. So does my mom and my brother. I'm just glad that metro card prices and stuff like that is cheaper here in comparison.

Our healhcare system, while not nearly as revered as it once was, is still quite decent. My mother recently went into the hospital for cancer and her stay there, three weeks of it, was free, she was visited every day from her doctor and she was treated very well. I would hate to think how much this would cost if we did not have the coverage we do in Canada. But there are so many areas that our tax dollars are misued that it is disgusting. When Mulroney and his cronies introduced the GST during the Persian Gul invasion, it was said to be temporary, now it is a permanent fixture to us. Where has that money gone? All of the new tax streams that didn't exist about 15 years ago. like casinos and such, where does the tax money go from there? This country has mismanaged so much money and it is really quite pathetic.

The older you get Baumer, the better the system gets for you. But I've seen old people just lying there in hospitals sometimes (last trip a month ago for a scopology) in less than impressive situations for hours before any doctor even came and looked at them. And the scopology exam ... took 2 and a half months before i could even get one!

I hear ya Gimli, it took me 4 weeks to get a cat scan. That is funny. Our system used to be so top notch and now that our government has decided its more important to steal from us that it is to provide health care for our citizens, things may never be the same.
