She probably did this to get her name out there for the release of Mud on Friday .
But from a PR standpoint, the apology was framed exactly right. She mentioned the drinking, acknowledged her improper behavior and apologized without shifting blame or exaggerating anything.
The second Reese goes on Jimmy Fallon or something and mentions this "incident" in an apologetic, "we all make mistakes" sort of way, it's over. Not that it ever really started to begin with.
She canceled appearances.
Roadside Attractions should sue her . If Mud bombs it's her fault for not getting out there and promoting it .

at this boring, overblown 'scandal.' It happened, she apologized and took responsibility for it (pled guilty, etc), move on.
