Is that X360?

That is the Xbox 360 version. The game is available for the PS3 too.

And it does look much better than the YouTube video suggests. It's just that I have to record it in standard def, and then degrade the video quality a ton to get it to an acceptable size for YouTube... then they degrade that further when they turn it into their video format.

The 80s are fully alive on Guitar Heroes Rock of the 80s

I wanna rock! (Rock)
I wanna rock! (Rock)
I want to rock (Rock)
I wanna rock! (Rock)

Turn it down you say,
Well all I got to say to you is time again I say, "No!"
No! No, No, No, No, No!
Tell me not to play
Well, all I got to say to you when you tell me not to play,
I say, "No!"
No! No, No, No, No, No!
So, if you ask me why I like the way I play it
There's only one thing I can say to you

I wanna rock! (Rock)
I wanna rock! (Rock)
I want to rock (Rock)
I wanna rock! (Rock)

I wish there were more songs in the game since theres no more than 30 songs. The songs are very fun to play though and I enjoyed the selection more than the other Guitar Heroes. It has more to do with my personal choice. Even cheesy songs like Scandal's "The Warrior", Poison's "Nothing but a Good Time", and the Go Go's "We Got the Beat" are wicked fun. My other complaint besides the small selection of songs is that about a good 1/3 of the songs are songs I have never heard of and Im a big 80s fan. Why are songs like FAster Pussy Cat's "Bathroom Wall" included or White Lion's "Radar Love" instead of the original version done by Golden Earring?

My ranking of the songs
1. Police-Syncronicity 2
2. Twisted Sister-I Wanna Rock
3. The Vapors-Turning Japanese
4. Oingo Boingo-Only a Lad
5. Flock of Seagulls-I Ran
6. Skid Row-18 and Life
7. Asia-Heart of the Moment
8. Scandal-The Warrior
9. The Scorpions-Noone like You
10.Poison-Nothing But a Good Time
11. The Romantics-What I like About You
12. Ratt-Round and Round
13. 38 Special-Hold on Loosely

FEAR (Xbox 360) - I was a little turned off by the demo, so I waited until now to buy FEAR. Anyhow, I'm early on, but now that I can adjust the control settings a little (a lot less "head bob" and a little less sensitivity), I find the controls more appealing. However, so far the environments are less than spectacular. So far it is just very bland, boring, and trite settings. Hopefully that improves. There are a few creepy moments, but I don't get a real sense of "fear" yet. Of course, I'm early on... so far it's about what I expected, and am glad I waited until it was a bargain title.

I downloaded Sonic on Xbox Live Arcade.

What a waste. The sequels were much more fun and speedy. At least in them you could crouch and charge up a super spin to go around a loop. I should have bought Prince of Persia instead. I can't believe I used to like this game and it points out how truly good the Mario platformers were when they still hold up well.v

Pokemon Pearl - Trying to beat it today or sometime this week, so I can trade everything over to Diamond. I usually do this with the games. Make one of them my main version, then beat and restart the other a million times so I can have multiple TM's, all the starters, legendaries, etc.

Purchased Forza Motorsports 2 (360).

Seems like pretty much the exact same game as on xbox, but thats ok as it was one of my favorites. Not really far enough in to give any legit impressions, but I do notice that the computer cars seems to purposely graze the back of my car to set me adrift into a wall.

Pokemon Pearl.

I'll beat it in a few hours, just reached the Elite Four. My team: Lv. 52 Empoleon, Lv. 48 Rampardos, Lv 50 Honchcrow, Lv 50 Mismagius, Lv 49 Lucario, Lv 50 Palkia. IT will REALLY help me with Pokemon Battle Revolution once I do. Not that I find it hard, but I am always using the same pokemon from Pokemon Diamond, and its getting a little boring. So, can't wait. :mer:

i am stuck behind the gaming times because the new systems are overpriced so i am still stuck with my ps2.

i was playing call of duty 3 and when the German guy just attacks you when you enter the house, it scared the crap out of me. It's easy as you can't die really. You can't just be hit to many times in like 20 secs. It was too short but the graphics were better then expected as those games usually have bad graphics.

8/10

Anyone played Mario Strikers Charged yet? I'm thinking of renting it to see how I like it. I don't really like soccer games, so a rental will let me know if it's worth it.

I finished FEAR a bit ago... man, that game sucked. It was terribly repetitive (same environment after same environment) and not the least bit "fear" inducing. It was like Doom 3, but less interesting and with far less "make you jump" moments. The weapons were bleh too.

That game just did not do it for me, and I'd say it was the worst shooter on the 360 so far. I'm going with a C-.

I've also finished an entire season of All Pro Football and am halfway through another. In the end I really, really enjoyed putting together your team and the strategy that involves. Also, creating the uniforms is fun - it's very detailed and you have so many options that you can create any NFL team you want, or just about anything you can dream up for that matter. In the end I'd say there are too many modes missing to recommend it to non-2k fans at $60. It'd be a good rental or wait for a drop in price for casual football fans. That one gets a final grade of B+ for me

Hour of Victory - F

The less said about this game the better.

Overlord - A

So far, my favorite game of this year. It's like a cross between Pikmin and Fable.

Glad Im not the only one who enjoyed Overlord. I had fun with the game although the camera angles were one of its main flaws and not having an automap makes it so hard to backtrack

Darkness:

Just started playing it, so no full review yet. The cool close up executions are... cool. I only just got the powers, so not much on that yet. Ill give a full review when the game is over. Right now the controls are a bit off (not as good as resistance) so I see it heading around an 8.0. But who knows, the powers could be really awesome and drive up my score.

Further Impressions on The Darkness.

1. Reminds me a lot of Chronicles of Riddick (made by the same developers). In some parts you walk around talking people, and get some "side quests" to do. Character interaction in general is very reminiscent.

2. Story: While so far it is just a simple kind of "mob wants you dead" story with a mysterious power within you, they have actually done a decent job getting you kind of involved with the character's life, like going to visit his girlfriend. Kind of makes you care about him/his girlfriend a little bit more.

3. Saving: Checkpoint saves only. Right now kind of irritating me since some checkpoints are too far from each other. This one level has a hellicopter that is real deadly chasing me around, and I have died several times trying to figure out where to go and went back to the beginning of that part each time. Can be annoying.

The DS does friend codes by game. So that's your friend code for one game. The Wii does it by system.
