Ew my friend's boyfriend smokes those. I find them horrifying, like most (make that all) other cigarettes.

But they smelll soo good.
If I smoked sober, I would never smoke those on a day-to-day basis. It'd be like eating Godiva three meals a day. They don't have a very "neutral" taste.

Cigars are kind of useless.
a) They don't have an effect on you
b) They don't taste like anything, if anything they taste bad
c) And oh yeah, they destroy your lungs.
I smoked a cigar with some friends earlier this summer, just stood around and puffed it... three quarters of the way through I was just thinking "This is it?"... so underwhelming. I don't "get" cigars, my opinion is that rich people smoke them to show other that they're rich, and young people smoke them because they look badass... but anyways.
But cigars are delicious, and they don't hurt your lungs because you're not really inhaling the smoke. Well, I mean, you do, but it's hard for the nicotine to really get you addicted (i suppose that if you smoked one for a week straight or so, you'd get physically addicted to the idea of holding one and having it in your mouth, but i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a nicotine addiction).
Yeah, but don't inhale a cigar.

da torri's thread - Topic #5: R.I.P. da torri's computer
da torri's most loyal friend of three and a half years has now, officially, died. It will not power up. It does not recognize da torri's power source. Nothing can be done to fix it.
I bought a Compaq when this happened back in April-ish. My Compaq's screen is shit. LCD has all kinda problems (I mean, it's clear, no like vertical color lines or anything, just big white spots that make parts of an image seem brighter or darker than others).
I can't afford to be without a computer on campus, but my warranty ends in a month or so. Sending it in ain't an option (takes too long to get it back). I could buy a new screen on eBay, but that costs $200, and for a computer that's really kinda barebones, it's a bad investment.
I should just get a new computer. This thing gets worse and worse every day.
I need something that will last me three or four years. Something sturdy (this is key) but also technologically advanced. Nothing above $2500 ($2500 every four years for something I use everyday really isn't a big investment, you know). It also needs to be under six pounds.
I'm thinking either a MacBook Pro, with upped ram, or an IBM Z-series or Dell Latitude. Do y'all think those are good choices? Should I be looking at something else?

I have a MacBook, which I love, personally I don't like the desing of the pro's, but overall a good comptuer choice, just max out the RAM when you buy it.
Re: da torri's thread - Laptop suggestions (p. 15)
I ended up getting the white MacBook.
I think it's funny revisiting this stuff. I kinda don't dislike Felicity Titwank (well, outside of him generalizing last week that everyone that goes to my university is an elitist snob...but that's another issue) anymore. He's, er, tolerable.
I almost don't use any of the products I listed on the first page. I'd say, right now, I've got love for:
Food: ZonePerfect Bars Tostitos w/Hint of Lime Edy's Fruit Bars San Pellegrino Sparkling Water (I can get a 12pk of 750ml bottles for $11.99. Why buy seltzer, when this stuff is superior, and not wallet busting. Plus, it comes in glass, not plastic) Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Lavazza Espresso Jamba Juice (why is this not in Ithaca) Halvah
Household thingamajigs: Any Tea Tree shampoo; works better than Head & Shoulders for dandruff Bumble and bumble Grooming Cream Proraso Shave Cream Tide-To-Go Febreze
Clothes: J. Crew (prob. about 50% of everything new I buy) Barney's CO-OP and Nordstrom Theory 7 for all Mankind Ermenegildo Zegna, Diesel, New Balance, and Reefs (for shoes. Zegna and Diesel make the most comfortable shoes for my feet when I'm dressing up, more comfortable than Cole Haan and Ecco; New Balance is still my favorite running shoe, Reef still my favorite sandal)
I've been told I should check out Zara. Any fans here? I'm a conservative dresser. I don't like flashy stuff or things with seriously obnoxious logos.

With the doughnut holes...once you pop, you just can't stop.
I've devoured boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnut holes in five minutes. I gotta make Krispy Kreme a once a year habit, not a once a week thing.

Whatever happened to Lauryn Hill?
I miss her. She does Sam Cooke justice in this unreleased Fugees track from way back in the 20th century: http://boomp3.com/m/1c936f959802
Now she's apparently insane, if you watch YouTube. To me, this is an even greater tragedy than the whole Britney Spears thing.

The pressure caused by media?
I don't know. She either has mental issues, has no interest in music anymore (which can't be true, because she still records singles every now and then), has serious writers block, or has Axl Rose syndrome.
