Re: 12th WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winners ceremony LIVE!
I had to vote for Mad Max because it's the only one of the 5 I saw.

Re: 12th WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winners ceremony LIVE!
Isn't it kinda baffling how little support The Revenant has on WOKJ? On paper it had so much going for it. People here like the directo, they love DiCaprio, it is a huge hit and seemingly right up WOKJ's alley.
I guess I can reveal now that it wasn't even in the Top 10 for a BP nomination, garnering less points than Kingsman.
But it's all fine by me. I voted it in two categories only (Cinematography and Makeup)

Re: 12th WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - Winners ceremony LIVE!
Best actress Emily Blunt in SicarioEmily Blunt plays Kate, an FBI SWAT agent who is recruited for a covert CIA operation against a major Mexican drug cartel. Blunt captivates as the film's uncertain moral center, a strong woman forced to weigh her belief in law and order against the icy, lethal, and often unethical pragmatism employed by those around her. Brie Larson in RoomBrie Larson plays Joy or "Ma," a woman abducted many years ago and held in a claustrophobic room. After giving birth to a child in captivity, she shelters him from the perilous truth of their situation while quietly pondering escape. Larson's is a devastating and then triumphant portrayal of a mother's strength. Rooney Mara in CarolRooney Mara plays Therese, an introverted and melancholy aspiring photographer whose life is energized by a romantic liaison with an older woman, a connection complicated by the conservative social mores of 1950s America. Mara reveals her character's gradual self-realization with subtlety, sensitivity, and grace. Daisy Ridley in Star Wars: The Force AwakensDaisy Ridley plays Rey, a desert-planet scavenger thrust into a galactic conflict and, at the end of the film, ready to be educated in the Force. Star Wars fans around the globe instantly embraced the charming and spry Ridley, a virtual unknown when cast, as the new star of the franchise and have hotly debated the origin and potential of her character. Amy Schumer in TrainwreckAmy Schumer plays Amy, a big-screen version of her acerbic and oversexed stand-up persona. She not only delivers a towering comic performance, delivering raunchy one-liners with speed and precision, but also connects on a more poignant level as the character copes with the death of her father and the anxiety of modern dating. Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury RoadCharlize Theron plays Imperator Furiosa, a woman torn from her family as a child and shaped into a soldier by a post-apocalyptic tyrant. She rebels against her cruel master when she steals his sex-slave wives and sets out to find a new home, inciting an enormous chase through the desert. With her shaved head, robotic arm, and haunted gaze, Theron creates a distinctive, empowered, and fiery new road warrior. - And the winner is:

The winner is Daisy Ridley for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road is the runner-up, losing by three votes.

An absolutely inane winner. She is cute and fairly charming, but it seems absolutely absurd to me to award her over Larson, who is momentous.
