 Re: Celebrity sightings
This is a year or two ago but my wife saw Tom Cruise when he was in Pittsburgh filming Jack Reacher.

 Re: Celebrity sightings
I just went to NYC for a few days and stayed in Brooklyn and actually saw a few celebs riding the subway/walking.
Sarah Jessica Parker Lena Dunham Peter Sarsgaard
I also heard that Tina Fey was at my performance of Pippin, but I didn't see her.

 Re: Celebrity sightings
Living where I live, I don't have "sightings" (well of some German "celebrities" that you wouldn't lnow anyway).
But I did either see live in person or meet, among others, Bruce Willis, Uwe Boll, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnny Knoxville, Jamie Alexander, Moritz Bleibtreu, Jackie Chan and the entire cast of Fast Five, except for Jordana Brewster. I am hoping to interview Chris Hemsworth and Ron Howard next week and James McAvoy in two weeks.

David wrote: What is McAvoy promoting? Filth? Yup. Great great film, BTW. No worse than Trainspotting, IMO. Would have been my #1 of the year if not the final half hour, which (while still good) was slightly disappointing given the brillant first hour. Incase you wanna know something from McAvoy, lemme know. I am also hoping to interview Irvine Welsh in November (which is even more exciting for me).

 Re: Celebrity sightings
These aren't really "celebrity sightings" I guess, but just a short list of celebrities I've met.
WRITERS: I've met lots of Science Fiction and fantasy writers at conventions and writers' conferences (Isaac Asimov, George RR Martin, Neil Gaiman, Alan Dean Foster, etc.) A few have even written some nice blurbs for my books (Jonathan Maberry, Gregory Frost, Gail Martin)...
MUSICIANS: When I was in college, I got to interview a few famous musicians for my radio show (Neil Finn from Crowded House and Bob Geldof probably the best well known) and I've interviewed Tommy James and Howard Kaylan for my blog.
When I lived in Boston, I met Rick Ocasek when he came into a record store where I was working at the time.
I went to High School with Aimee Mann though and she used to come and watch my band at the time (and date the guitarist).
ANIMATORS: Since I edited a magazine on animation, I got to meet and talk to Chuck Jones, Ralph Bakshi, Sally Cruikshank, and John Kricfalusci, among others.
ACTORS: The closest I can come here is that when I lived in NYC I almost literally bumped into Frank Langella once. And other than just meeting actors at conventions or other appearances, I haven't had much contact with them.

 Re: Celebrity sightings
I've taken part in a Q&A with Kevin Spacey. It was about three years ago. It was a surprise appearance because the director of the movie I was seeing at the St. Louis Festival (Casino Jack) had just passed a few days prior.

Also, I did do Let's Make A Deal once. Didn't get picked, but Wayne Brady stood literally two feet away from me.

His career had ups and downs, but made a few very good films. I was sad when he died.

Then again, I'm certainly not jealous. It's only James McAvoy. He's a prick.

James McAvoy is a very talented actor in general.

Filth does look good. Lots of TV spots on here in the UK for it.

 Re: Celebrity sightings
The Irvine Welsh novel from which it is adapted is a very fun, twisted read. He also wrote Trainspotting.

 Re: Celebrity sightings
I'm going to bump this because I met one of my favorite celebrities a few nights ago. I took a day trip to NYC to see Emma Stone in Cabaret. She was absolutely amazing (obviously). I met her after and she couldn't have been sweeter, incredibly gracious and humble and I had a small conversation with her. Two of my other favorite celebrities I met... Zach Braff is probably at the top honestly. He was crazy nice and I actually had a five minute or so conversation with him about his films. I also took a selfie with him. The other was Daniel Radcliffe who did everything to please every person at the stage door and tried to talk to everyone. Very sweet.
