 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
I remember the first episode I watched on TV where they reviewed Pearl Harbor and Our Song. I never missed an episode until the last one where they reviewed Superman Returns.
Ebert is an initial and fundamental part of my love for the world of film, and I will miss him dearly. What a sad, awful day.

 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
For those interested, his last reviewed film is/will be To The Wonder, not The Host.

 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
That's ironic, Siskel's last review was on Simply Irresistible

Well, at least it'll be a review of a film from a director of substance and not some Stephanie Meyer bullshit. Reading about his death yesterday was kind of like a punch to the stomach. I credit him and Superman: The Movie for getting me to appreciate film as something more than just mindless entertainment.

 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
Apparently, he liked To the Wonder a lot.
Something else I didn't know: The Tree of Life was one of his ten favorite films ever.

 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
To the Wonder looks pretty good. We'll see. So far Malick hasn't done it for me. I think Malick's films are able of producing the finest trailers around, but when you stretch them out to full features, they become tedious and longwinded. He should just change careers and make trailers.

 Re: RIP Roger Ebert
Jessica Chastain's Facebook post was very nice.
I am so terribly sad to hear that Roger Ebert died yesterday. I grew up watching the show "At the Movies". His love of film was infectious. While I dreamed of being an actor, he taught me about cinema. I will always be grateful for his wisdom. And I will always remember those moments I could forget my troubles and dream that someday Roger Ebert would give my film two thumbs up. xxjes

Line to get into Ebertfest was around the block - despite the threat of intense storms on the way.
