Hey, it's a pity post of the day. You know, to make me feel better.
I'll be back to normal in a few months and then you can get the posts of the day again.

But laughter is the best medicine, so they say. "They" being medical text books required for med school.

Mine was a one day family orientation, so being that my parents don't go to anything ever I felt very out of place and talked to the one other person there alone, he and I are still friends till this day.
Then the freshmen arrived a weekend earlier then he upperclassmen for an orentation type thing after we moved in for the fall, that was stupid. Funny story, partly why I was so anti-Brown University in my senior year of high school was the guy who worked there and was in charge of the recruitment weekend that I found offensive (this weekend is what convincedme not to go there). My first weekend at the college I picked over Brown, the dude is there, he was left Brown because the school I picked offered him a more senior position. The bastard followed me, he planned my crap weekend Freshmen orientation.
When I transferred I had a quick no nonsense orientation, colleges don't care about you when you transfer, so there is no dicking around.

I can't believe you people are forced to go on orientations. I was given a map and a schedule and it was up to me to find out where i had to go.
Are Americans that retarded?

Of all time? I doubt that. You're forgetting all of history, which included the Roman Empire and the Egyptians. I would argue that they were more powerful than present-day America.

My orientation, from which I just back yesterday, was actually quite helpful. I felt kind of lost going in, but I'm pretty much set now.

I attended my orientation yesterday. It actually was surpisingly interesting, I met some cool people (including some Facebook friends), and I feel much more comfortable now about attending my college.
