According to Engadget, The Palm Pre and Pixi is pretty much dead. Nice concept, the OS was pretty amazing, but shitty hardware and HORRIBLE campaign ads KILLED whatever shot Palm had at bouncing back into the market.

I love the EVO and I think it will satisy my needs for another year (thats when I can get another upgrade) however I do miss a real keyboard.

I was not sold on the Epic, I liked the bigger screen of the EVO and the keboard felt to plastic-y/wobbly on the epic...

Any tips on saving battery usage with the EVO?

Consumer Reports has the EVO as the worst battery life of any phone.

It's awful.

Since it's a battery you have to install isn't there just a better battery one could by that has more longevity?

The Evo battery is really not that bad. I heard all the bad reviews of the batter before I got it and to my suprise...its pretty decent.

I usually charge it over night and it will last me from roughly 730am- about 10pm without having to re charge. This includes HEAVY texting, email and pretty decent web use...facebook, espn, message boards...etc.

So dont be fooled to much by what they are saying about the battery...is it as good as the blackberry battery? NO...but I cant ask for much more...its gets me thru an entire day with heavy usage.

Yes there are several battery add ons, or "better batterys" you can purchase instead of the stock battery.


EVO is a GREAT phone...you should def check it out.

Well some are better than others I suppose. Like I said, I only have to charge mine once...at night. Maybe your friend got a bad battery?

However most "smart phones" like the evo, epic, etc...are going to have less than great battery life given everything they do on a day to day basis.

The epic is a solid phone as well and I am interested in trying out the NEW WINDOWS phone.

True...other than the battery life the evo is a great phone!

You should check it out and retire that old ass G1!

I don't have Sprint. And again, I have checked it out, my friend has it. It's a nice phone. But I already have a phone with a terrible battery, why would I get another one?

Well you can get extended batteries...or just a different phone on your carrier. The G1 was relevant like 3 years ago...does that phone even get updates anymore?

I think the Iphone is coming to verizon soon...or any of the android phones on att (upper tier of course)


What carrier do you have? Tmobile I am assuming...the samsung vibrant is a fantastic phone (again the battery isnt great) but the screen is beautiful.

If I get a new phone, it will be the G2 or the Nexus S.
