In the immortal words of Roger Ebert:
"No good movie is too long, no bad movie is short enough"
There is no overstating how important good editing is to the quality of a movie. Once the actors have acted their parts and the director and his DP have shot the footage, it is up to the editor to cut and polish the raw diamonds, in order for it to reach its full potential. There is a reason why since 1980 not a single movie has won the Best Picture Oscar without a Best Editing nomination. No other technical category holds as much importance and for good reason. These five movies excelled in their editing last year, even though one appeared to have no edits at all. But which one did WOKJ choose as their favorite?
