Most of them are morons, especially since they could still watch the game if they want by either turning the channel or going on the Internet and watching it. The rest are racists.

Type in Ar-15 Bushmaster gun in Google... Looks like something from Call of Duty and yet this gun sits in people's home in America...

Re: School Shooting...could be pretty bad
Yeah a lot of people I know own AR 15's. As for me I don't own a gun. Just never felt I needed it. Only shot a gun in one occasion at a shooting range. Wanted to know what it felt like so I rented one. It was awesome at the moment.

I shot big bore double barrel shotgun in India a few times...
It was amazing and the kickback was intense...

An AR-15 is fun to shoot, but it is pretty weak. Don't get me wrong, it, obviously, can kill things, but compared to many other legal firearms, it is weak.

Hmm so he was RTS fan and not a FPS fan?
a RTS in no way can inspirse anyone to do this... Those kind of games actual require some skill and strategy compared to other games

They are just crazy lunatics either doped up on psychotropic meds or have some mental disorder that hadn't been diagnosed or properly treated. I'm sorry but blaming anything else be it video games, tv shows, movies, books or whatever other element other than the person is just more than frustrating to constantly read or hear about. He Was Crazy. Now how we go about fixing or helping people like that is another matter but enough of the blame game.

Another shooting at a showing of The Hobbit. Was it in the USA again?
Nobody will attend the movies eventually. Thank God for VOD (thought I'd never say that). Everyone will stay indoors and become recluses. The anarchists win. Some people love TDK too much.

Re: School Shooting...could be pretty bad
Reading about Vicki Soto (the teacher who hid her students and lied about their whereabouts to the gunman, likely saving many of them) and getting choked up all over again. It's amazing how, time and time again, people act heroically in times of horror. The dark side of human nature with incidents like this is really contrasted with the bright side of it simultaneously sometimes.

The NRA had a press conference today.
And in conclusion... the NRA is full of idiots.

Love how the congressional solutions are tone down video game violence and MORE GUNS. A shotgun in every teachers lounge and a paintball gun in the hands of simulated military personelle! Psycho killers beware.

The NRA are right in this instance. My high school had an armed police officer there all day every day, & this was in an affluent New England suburb.
I see no problem whatsoever with their suggestion of having a trained & armed guard or two at schools, many schools already have them.

And who's gonna pay for it?
The solution to school shootings is not MORE GUNS IN SCHOOLS. That's just common sense.

It's just a waste of money. Also, kinda depressing. How will my kids play hooky and smoke weed if they've got armed guards around? Yikes.

Re: School Shooting...could be pretty bad
trixster wrote: The solution to school shootings is not MORE GUNS IN SCHOOLS. That's just common sense. No, it is not. it is time for folks to live in reality. A ban& seizure of all guns tomorrow will not rid streets of guns. Folks need to accept that guns will be a big part of society. This is a simple fact. Love or gate the NRA, the statement "the only thing which can truly stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" is simply quite accurate. Cops with guns have prevented or stopped 4 different massacre-style shootings in the past week alone, including today where state troopers shot the shooter to death. Deranged gun men are never talked it giving up their crusade, they are forced and these are just facts everybody needs to accept. Having a conversation on gun control means listening & not judging. Conservatives yelling "arm everyone" are just as bad as the liberals who say "ban all guns!". If we want these problems to stop, and have less damage when they do occur, both sides need to stop pre judging and simply hear the other side out. Democrats love to the use "conservatives have their conclusions and look for facts which support them, while democrats have facts and look for conclusion which can be drawn form them" & it is largely true. Democrats need to continue to stick with this principle here. Understand that mental illness is not going anywhere, and neither are guns, and you will quickly understand these type of events are going to continue. Wishful thinking did not stop the holocaust, it did not prevent terrorism, and it will not stop gun violence. Armed police officers which can deter shooting or all together, end the shooting before damage can be done, or slow the shooter down are obviously a good idea. I have kids who will soon be school. Everybody needs to just accept that we don't live in Harry Potter world - there is magical spell that would rid the worlds of guns (though I would gladly support it if there was such a thing). Guns are going to be everywhere for the foreseeable future. We protect government, we protect malls, sporting events, you name it. It is high time we protect schools, evidence from every direction says it is more than merited. 1) Temporarily (say 20 years) increasing protection, while 2) aggressively pursuing treatment for the mentally ill, and 3) implementing much stronger gun control laws is the best combination to help solve this problem. Limit the people who would commit such crimes, limit the means of people who commit such crimes, and limit their potential effectiveness should they chose to commit. It is not a conservative or liberal idea, this is frankly a realist idea and nothing else. As far as who will pay for it....umm raising taxes a wee it to support a police officer in every school might be the most popular tax ever.

Re: School Shooting...could be pretty bad
Excel is right
Wishing to ban all guns is simply silly... Its too big of a part of American culture... Or blaming this all on Mental issues.. Or thinking we should not have more secure school
The answer is all three...
There is no doubt that secuirty needs to be increased around school and all Cops need to be trained to deal with such situations...
In the end, when guys plan to kill or go killing its Cops who are going to save us...
Its a fine line really, gun men would never attack certain places due to security and school and movie theaters are places to easily conduct such a vile act. Its much harder in malls as many of them have increased secuirty like crazy...
