Yeah, it's OK, don't worry about it.

You know, guys, I will vote. Just so you know, I won't vote until a day or two before the deadline, so don't think I forgot.
Xiyaun, check your PM in some minutes...

LMR, Lecter, everyone that has more posts than I_was_your_sam. You don't need to sift through posts, There will be a nice clean clear ballot in your box by tomorrow morning. To pass it at your own leisure, y'all have plenty of time. BJ and I split the list according to post counts, and I did everyone up through Sammy, he is going to do everyone on the first three pages by midnight tonight. So it'll all be clean and clear.
I think about 30 people have already picked up their ballots from my outbox, so this could be very big..... Get psyched, so don't forget to thank BJ and also, please don't foprget,

hehe, I used "or" because if people don't want to send the same message three times, they can choose to send any one of us. I'll pm any ballots that I receive to both you and Mav immediately, but I haven't received any yet since it just got started. We will all count and check with each other to make sure the results are right. You're an integral part of this whole process. We'll also communicate for whatever problems or issues any of us sees.

I'm saving all the ballot-related PMs, and you can send incomplete one now and more later so you don't have to sit down spend 1 hour all at one time, and you can update, re-sent, and blow up my inbox any way you want.

You should've received a PM from dolce, and you have until Feb 20th to vote on those categories and Best Soundtrack. If there is any question, let us know.

Oh, sorry mark, I highlighted the *or* because Inoticed in the poster awards that people balked at sending multiple versions of the same ballot to different counters. we're trying to make this convenient for voters so that we can have a high turnout, unfortunately that means more work for you hosts. go to the thread archive and check out what lecter, ripper, and i did in order so that everyone was on the same page. basically, you're porbably going to get around a third of the votes (people who know you best) and xia will get a third, and mav will get a third, etx. Whenever you get one you need to post it in this thread so that xia and mav know you received a new ballot, and then forward it to them. they will keep running tallies as well, and when you notice they recieved one and you didn't just post that you need it, and they will send it to you. this method has a lot of kinks, but when we did poster counts, by the end all three of us had the same 56 submissions. chances are you guys are going to get way more than that, but i have confidence you guys can make it run pretty smoothly. if not, I'll gladly profer up makeshift and lmr to help out
See how nice and easy it is to be giving when its someone else's time and energy.
Yeah, Lecter, I noticed, that ruled. Anytime you feel like plastering the place with Bad Education images, you'll make me one ounce happier. best movie of the year...everyone go see it. Also, its going to get plenty of loving from me when my opinion piece about the oscars comes out next week for the front page.

Sounds good!
I just realized that Feb 21st is President's Day, and I probably will be on vacation that weekend. Does it work with people to move the nomination deadline to Feb 13th instead?

Sorry, ballots went out, I think we're only planning on having them a bit later, so they just need to be in by then, not counted. I found that keeping a running totaly whenever I received a ballot was actually the easiest (I set up a spread sheet) and on the last day besides adding a couple last minute votes, it wasn't tough at all. I pretty much just added two or three people's ballots per day.
If you want to set up an announcement in each forum, speak with admin they're smart cookies and will figure something out for the change date. Unfortunately I've noticed about 45 ballots already get picked up by some of the less frequent visitors (since I did the lower post counts) so I don't know when/if they'll find out the news!
Anyone have any suggestions?

I know it's tough to change the date since the ballots are out. It's just that I probably won't be here to do the announcement or participate in it for the weekend of Feb 20th, and I really like to see the anticipations and everything unfold live. If it can be moved to earlier than Friday (< Feb 18), it will be great; otherwise, Mav and Matatonio will have the results anyway. I should have realized about the schedule earlier.

The Oscars are only on the 27th (Sunday) would you prefer the ballots be in when we set it for, but that we do the actual event on thursday the 24th? That will give you guys time, we'll still have better turnout b/c its a weekday (vs. fri or sat) and it'll still be done before the oscars.
work it out with yourselves and we'll gladly oblige whatever you guys think is best. we can always post announcements about changing the dates in all the forums, but decide as soon as possible between the other hosts and counters so we can give people as long a heads up as possible.

Here are the updated instructions:
1. You can start sending your ballot now to Mav, Matatonio, or me. The deadline is 9:00am, February 17th. The categories are listed in the first post.
2. Please write down 5 nominees each except for the following categories: Animated Feature, Comedy, Horror, and Sequal/Remake. You only need to nominate 3 for those four categories.
3. All films that opened in U.S. between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2004 are eligible in all categories except for Foreign Film and genre categories. For Foreign Film, only the films in foreign language apply. And for individual genre categories, use your own discretion on which films are eligible.
4. Please specify which movie you are nominating an actor/actress for.

I will send my ballot to you guys no later than a week before the deadline. I also got torrino's ballot, although he is still going to update it.

Well, best soundtrack would have been nice, but I guess we can live without it if we have to. Thank you for taking the initiative dolce, you're one groovy girl.
