Very sad news.

"Leave of Presence," his final blog entry, is an amazing swansong.

Wow, I figured this was coming, but not so soon. RIP.

Morbid curiousity: I wonder what his last viewed film was. His last posted review, as far as I can tell, is The Host. It wasn't enough to expose us to the Twilight universe, Stephanie Meyer, you had to take Ebert too?!

This is really sad. Have been a longtime reader. He was, for a while, a great critic.

Really sad. Been following his reviews since the early 90s. "Siskel & Ebert" to reunite once again. RIP Roger.

Will be a very poignant and bittersweet Ebertfest this year.

Thanks Roger for all the fun and thought-provoking film discussions you started and inspired, and for your overlooked film festival.

That's horrible. I just heard on the news a few days ago that his cancer had come back but jimminy. I guess it was worse than what was reported. That's terrible loss for the film critic community. I think he was one of the last critics people actually gave a darn to listen too.

RIP

Yep.

Could there have been more amazing final words for him?

"So on this day of reflection I say again, thank you for going on this journey with me. I'll see you at the movies."
