 Is Anyone Getting Oculus Rift? Pre-orders are up for $600 US. For me that is #yikes and I don't have a good enough PC anyways. So its Morpheus (hopefully at $300) or bust for me. I know some of you have pretty good rigs and wouldn't sweat the six hundy all that much though. Is there a demand and what are you most excited to use it for?

But that would depend on whether the Hololens can also mask out the room and replace it with the same immersion as VR offers. Backgrounds and such.
It could be interesting to play a "Resident Evil" where the zombies and ghouls appear to be present and active within the walls of my own home.

Re: Is Anyone Getting Oculus Rift? Never heard of it before. It looks super funky on your head. I don't have a power PC. It's way expensive. I'm still good with my XBOX 360, and if I were to invest in gaming, I'd go for the One.
Couldn't tell you what's the appeal of VR.

I also think this could be a huge boom for nature documentaries and stuff like that. Imagine being right there in the jungle or the deep sea.

Seems like a waste of money to me. The price will obviously drop - all new tech things start off expensive.
